TV Shows/ Web Series We're Loving Right Now!

 Hello, hello!

I hope you've been having a wonderful weekend!

We've been enjoying a few TV shows and series recently and felt that we should share some of our favourites with you as well!

1. Lupin (Netflix)

Lupin on Netflix is a French crime thriller/ suspense heist caper and, basically, an all-around amazing show! The show follows Senegalese French citizen- Assane Diop- who is on a mission to avenge the wrongful indictment of his father for a theft he did not commit. However, this show is so much more than just a crime thriller or a revenge saga, it is about the plight of migrants in France's highly racist society, it is about classism, corruption and so much more! Highly recommend!

2. Death in Paradise Series 10 (BBC One)

Long time readers of this blog will know that we've been fans of Death in Paradise ever since the show began in 2011! So, it is no surprise that it makes our list of must-watch crime thrillers! Death in Paradise follows a team of British, French and local Caribbean cops as they solve ming-boggling murders on a scenic Caribbean island! If murder mysteries were not enough of a draw for watching this show, then I give you two more hooks- beautiful ocean and island scenes in almost every frame and some of the most lovely characters on any crime show! Highly recommend watching all 10 seasons of this show!

3. Taqdeer (Hoichoi- Bangla

Taqdeer is a Bangladeshi show that is streaming on Hoichoi. It tells the story of Taqdeer- driver of a freezer van for transporting dead bodies. One day, during a normal journey of transporting a dead body to the cemetery, an unknown person places the dead body of an unknown woman in his van. That's when Taqdeer's trials and tribulations start. Who is this mystery woman? Who has killed her? Why are they after him? How will he save himself and his friends?

This is a very nicely made and suspenseful show! Highly recommend!

4. Feluda Pherot (Addatimes- Bangla)

Feluda is an iconic Bengali character and his stories lend themselves so well to multiple re-tellings. So, here is another one! This one has been directed by Srijit Mukherji and it stars Tota Roy Chowdhury as Feluda and it brings on screen a hitherto untold story- Chinnomastor Obhishaap

The show is streaming on Addatimes and is a must-watch! Highly, highly recommend!

5. WandaVision (Hotstar)

Anything from Marvel feels like a balm for the soul! Uff! It does! WandaVision's events take place barely three weeks after the devastating events of Avengers: End Game. Wanda Maximoff has lost everyone she loves- first, her twin- Pietro- and more recently, Vision- the love of her life. She fashions herself and Vision a happily ever after- an idyllic suburban life- complete with a cute house with a white picket fence! However, things are nearly not as perfect as they seem and soon, Wanda's perfect life starts falling apart! Won't say anything anymore, just go watch this show! It is so, so good!

6. Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (Netflix)

True crime fans are no stranger to the names Elisa Lam or the Cecil Hotel! This was a famous case from 2013, when a young Canadian student, Elisa Lam, went missing without a trace from LA's infamous Cecil Hotel. What was left behind was 4 minutes of elevator video footage, which showed Elisa hiding away and making strange hand gestures, supposedly to someone off-camera. That was the last she was seen alive! What happened to Elisa Lam? This documentary delves into that mystery from multiple perspectives- the detectives investigating the case, the manager of the Cecil, amateur detectives and online sleuths.

An interesting and tragic case and a documentary that fans of Unsolved Mysteries will enjoy watching for sure!
