Hello June 2024.

Hello June!  Hope you bring some much needed respite from summer. I hope you bring rains and clouds and perfect rainy days!  I am so happy you are here.  Sadly, my June is  not off to a good start. I have a fever and cold and I am feeling like a wet rag. Ugh!  Hoping the rest of the month is better and broghter.

Hello May 2024 🌞🥭🍦🏖🌞

Hello May!  I am stepping into this month hoping things are good and calm and gentle.  My Goal for the month is to try and enjoy summer.  Read some good books.  Make a summer TBR.  Watch old films.  Eat mangoes.  Be Happy in my little world.  🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭

Bookish Moments from this Week.

This week we celebrated World Book Day.  TBH, isn't every day World Book Day in a bookworms life?  In my corner of the world, every day is spent being grateful for the wonder and gift that are books. ❤  An epitaph from a book I read earlier this week.  Books always make me so happy.  Bookshops 🩷  These shelves from Crosswords at Kemps Corner.  Some new books I've added to my shelves this week.  Two scary books I've read recently and really enjoyed.  Moved my books around and reorganized them. This stack is mostly new books I hope to read this year.  Books and Sunflowers🌻

Monday Moods: Gratitude Journal.

“Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.” Voltaire  Starting everyday and every week with a heart full of gratitude.  Writing in my gratitude journal always makes me feel good about life, no matter how the current situation in life is.  “When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself.” Tecumsah    These are the pages of my gratitude journal from last week.  I don't always decorate my Gratitude Journal.  I like to keep it simple and leave ample space for writing about things big and small that I am grateful for.  This week I used little stickers from Stickii Club Kits.  Some happy, lazy and joyful frogs going about the lives.  And some bunnies for Easter.  :)

General Whimsy: Full Moon & Little Joys & Big Comforts.

Postcards from the Moon.  Or, well of the Moon.  Pictures clicked in March during some kind of super moon.  I remember having a less than perfect day, and that night I looked out the window and saw this glorious full moon and feeling all kinds of joyful.  This has been my greatest learnings from the last few months, that its the littlest things that bring the brightest joys.  A full moon night.  A gentle breeze at the end of a long day.  Flowers blooming.  A cup of perfectly brewed chai.  A good nap. A rainy afternoon.  Perfect puddles to jump in.  Fluffy clouds.  Soft, old tees.  Cold Coffee.  A good laugh.  Good hair days.  Food that fills your heart.  Kitchen experiments.  Cold showers at the end of a summer night.  Fresh sheets.    "With freedom, flowers, books, and the moon, who could not be perfectly happy?"  —  Oscar Wilde   "And once the storm is over you won't...

General Whimsy: Flowers and A Quote I Love. (100th Post for 2020.)

Hello!  This is my 100th post for this year. And like all things with 2020, this comes a lot later than usual. It's no surprise that blogging has been slow this year. One might think that given all else has come to a grinding halt, blogging and talking about books would just take off. I thought that too. In March, as the first phase of the lockdown was announced, I was all geared up for blogging more and clearing a long backlog of books I wanted to talk about. Alas! That just didn't happen. I ended up doing chores day in and day out and just not reading enough and definitely not blogging enough.  Hell, I got to book 100 only in August, a feat I normally, without any issues accomplish in June. July tops. But mostly June. But man, it's been a task on somedays to find time to read.  Cooking. Cleaning. Dishes.  Worrying about the world.  Sanitising every single thing...sure takes up a lot of time.  But in the last month, I've found my reading mojo back. ...

Blogmas Day- 3 Bookmark & Tote from Karubasona.

Hello!  Today I want to share some beautiful things with you guys.  Some recent happy mail that came to me.  I spotted Karubasona on IG and it was love at first sight. Their art was just too cute to pass up. I saw their Tintin in Calcutta series and was smitten and I had to have a little bit of that magic in my life.  So here we are with some absolute beauties I added in my life.  Let's see.. I had to get my favourite lines from my favourite Rabindra Sangeet on either a tote or bookmark.  This was an entirely collaborative effort. I am so happy with how this tote turned out.  We sent a picture from Landour to get the floral pathway and arch and it looks so good.  Plus Tagore's words just make everything good.  Tintin and Snowy .  Like so many others, we grew up with Tintin and his adventures and these stories have had our hearts.  My sister, especially, is a BIG BIG fan of Tintin so we had t...

Stationery Sunday: Haul/// Bookmarks from Obvious State.

Hello!  For today's Stationery Sunday I wanted to share the other set of bookmarks I got from Obvious State back in December. This set had my heart from the first time I ever laid eyes on them. I saw them all over IG and I couldn't wait to get me a set of my own! I mean look at them.  Poetry and Florals. This is a match made in aesthetic heaven!  The Bloom Bookmark set retails for $5 and is worth every penny.  I finally got this and few other bits from Obvious State during their Black Friday sale. I have shared my previous batch of bookmarks HERE.   Those ones are mainly for my sister but this set here is my love. I am so happy I finally have these gorgeous bookmarks. Honestly, I am never going to have enough bookmarks. These ones are so well made and study and the art and print on them is perfect. I am so glad to finally have them.  I have some bits from the shop and will share them soon!  Hope you've ...
