Landour Memories.

Been missing Landour a little something extra lately. Maybe it's this insane heatwave we've been living through. I wish I could just blink and be back in my favourite place.  These are pictures from 2016, my first trip to Landour. We stayed at The Rokeby Manor and had the best time ever.  I can't wait to go back ✨

Friday Favourites: Flowers in the Hills.

Hello Loves!  Where are the rains? It's nearly end of June and the rains are playing hard to get.  So here's a little throw back to these glorious flowers in the hills of Kurseong.  Oh God take me back to the hills.    Flowers + Mountains are a sure shot way to make me happy.  I cannot wait to go back to the hills.

General Whimsy: Prayer Flags.

Currently: Praying for gentle days.  Good sense.  Good news.  And goodness in this world.   In the Frame: Prayer Flags seen all over the hills.

Monday Moods: Craving a Holiday.

Current Mood: Dreaming of the hills and running off for a holiday.  Every year (when things were good and normal) I went off on a little holiday to bring in my birthday.  Jaipur.  Ooty.  Pondicherry.  Landour.  Goa.  Aurangabad. Places I've gone for my birthday holidays in the past.  But since 2020 all of that has gone for a toss.  So today I look back on old memories and try to feel an ounce of joy.  Aaaahhh!  When will I travel again!  All of these pictures are from Kalimpong.

Vignettes: Margaret's Deck Tea Lounge.

Hello Loves!  Today I am throwing it back to the time in March when I made a little day-trip to the hills. The only time I went to the hills this year. Hai what a tragedy! Hopefully 2022 has me in the hills more and longer.  I had crossed Margaret's Deck a lot of times but for one reason or another we never stopped for a cup of tea, mainly because we are either excited to just get to Darjeeling or we usually stop at the Kurseong Tourist Lodge for momos and sandwiches, so it feels a little silly to stop so soon after. But for this time we were determined to stop and see this much hyped place for ourselves.  Here are some pictures from our short stop over.  Ah! An aesthetic paradise. This view meets your eye the moment you walk in.  A little plant display.  My cup of hot chocolate. I was hoping to grab a cup of coffee but they don't serve any, which makes sense it's a tea place, they offer a variety of teas and cocoa. This is the view from the deck. Mou...

Monday Moods: Dreaming of the Hills.

Hello Loves!  Would give anything to go somewhere beautiful and fun.  The hills.  The Tea Gardens.    Oh to be surrounded by flowers again!  Blue skies.  The mountains.  Trees.  A mouthful of sky and feeling calm.  I would love nothing more than an old fashioned picnic.  Like the ones from our childhood and storybooks?  Yummy food, games and laughs!  These flowers make me so happy.  I am beginning to feel a little bit stir crazy and would honestly give anything for things to be better and hit the road and find myself in a new place.  Once I get the second dose of my vaccine, I am hoping to run off to Darjeeling for a few days.  I cannot wait to be back.  Walk and people watch at the Mall.  Shop for curios.  Watch the fog rolling.  Feel cozy and happy being bundled up.  I hope it happens soon because I am *this* close to losing my mind.

Life Lately: Everything kinda Sucks & Things That Help.

Dear Diary,  Life seems too hard some days.  Everything feels too heavy and nothing seems to be in our control. We thought 2020 was the worst thing we had to deal with but now its actually seems pleasant compared to the hell fire this year is turning out to be.  I know all of us are struggling with, none of this is easy, none of us was built to for this level of constant stress and distress.  I wake up every morning expecting the other shoe to drop.  It feels like one thing after another.  A devastating second wave. Dead.  Illness.  Helplessness.  And now we have Mother Nature coming in with Cyclones.  Eh.  Life seems too much.  And today we learnt that several social media apps may get banned from tomorrow.  Great.  Just great.  Ugh.  Seriously, this year won't let up.  I hope wherever you are, you are safe and sound and well and finding ways to cope with this unending shit fest.  Stay strong my l...

Monthly Favourites: March 2021.

Hello Loves!  March is nearly done and it's been a surprisingly good month.  A year since our lives changed and what a year it's been!  A lot of looking back happened this month for all of us.  Eh!  All we can do is hope and pray that things get better soon!  Now back to this month that is just about to end.  March was good.  Long.  Full of good books.  Some book buying.  A little travel.  Lots of new stationery supplies.  A lot of journaling.  Some anxious days.  But overall this was a good month.  & Here are some of my favourites from March 2021.  1. Road Trip to Kurseong: My absolute favourite thing this month was a little travel to the hills. It was just for a day. But it was everything I needed! Hills, flowers and being back on the open road!  I can't to go out for a getaway to the hills but this virus just won't let up.  2. Art Journaling: I did a spot of art journaling this ...
