Friday Favourites/// Favourite TV Shows of 2019. (So Far).

Hello!  The weekend is here and is there a better time to unwind with some TV shows.  I realised it had been a long, long time since I shared my favourite TV shows on here. And I know so many of you love these posts of mine, so without wasting anytime let's jump into some shows I've been loving in recent times.  Most of these are on various streaming platforms, mainly Amazon Prime and Netflix and Zee 5.  1. Abhay /// A cop drama based on true crimes. Edgy and hardcore, this is a cop show that exceeded my expectations. There have been 4 episodes so far and I have immensely enjoyed all of them. The acting is good and it's so nice to see Kunal Kemmu in a serious role.  Highly recommend.  2. Fyre /// This one was oddly satisfying and engaging. I knew very little of the whole Fyre festival debacle when it happened and it's aftermath, yet I was hooked to this documentary. It is so good and so sad and an inside look into a great con. ...

Monday Moods: Movies Lately- Avengers Infinity War + Black Panther + Pari + The Boss Baby + Asche Abar Shabor.

Hello!  & Hello Monday!  I hope this new week treats you well.  My weekend was one long lazy and movie filled thing of joy. Just what I needed to beat the summer heat. Even in general, my life has been full of films. Both good and great.  So I thought I'd talk about some film favourites of mine.  1. Avengers Infinity War: Like everyone and their second cousin I watched this film too. I in fact watched it first day first show like a true blue MCU fan that I am and I loved it. It was incredible and I can't believe we have to wait for over a year to watch the next instalment! UGH!  I can't wait to watch it again and this time around I want to watch it in 2D. 3D just wasn't that fun given I wear glasses. It was one of my favourite movie watching experiences, with hardcore MCU fans all cheering and screaming and hooting and laughing together. So good!  5/5  2. Black Panther: Keeping it in the MCU I finally go...

Thoughts & Review: Wild Wild Country on Netflix

Like everyone else on the Netflix-and-chill planet, we also watched the fantastic, insightful, informative and thought-provoking documentary Wild Wild Country.  I had been hearing so much buzz about this documentary for a few days now and getting very antsy and wanted to watch it right away! I LOVE Cults..and I don't even care how strange that sounds. I LOVE them. There is something so gnarly and strange and so fascinating about cults and how they function. One charismatic leader. Several followers willing to give up everything and do the strangest things for their leader. How do they fall for it? What makes a seemingly sane person give up their former life and follow a Guru or leader? Having had studied cults a little bit in grad school I am always interested to learn more about these curious little things. So of course I watched the entire documentary in one night. Yup! I binged the hell out of it and I have some thoughts... THOUGHTS:  1. First up, the sheer fact ...

Blogmas Day- 8 : Weekend Watching and Reading Plans.

Hello!  And Happy Friday!!!  I had a chilled out day today. I started a new book on my Kindle called Yakshini by Neil D'Silva, it's a horror novel about a 13 year old girl living in a village in Maharashtra who is growing up too soon and showing signs of being something other than just an ordinary girl. I am only 30% in and I am quite enjoying it.  I am hoping to finish this book by this weekend. I am so far breezing through it.  How pulp fiction-esque is this cover? It reminds me of the many books in this genre I saw at the Wheeler Book Stall at railway stations as a kid. I secretly always wanted to pick up one of these books but I think they were well out of my age group back then.  I am also a little bit in The Bear and The Nightingale by Katherine Arden, this book is a darling mix of Russian fairy tales and folklore and myths. It has very deep winter vibes and is perfect for this season.  I hopefully, want to read a fair bit of...

Spooky Reviews/// TV Reviews: Stranger Things 2.

Hello!  I, like every one else spent this last weekend all wrapped up in the Stranger Things universe.  After 9 hours of being in LOVE with all things Season 2, I can now go back to my normal life.  Have you seen season 2 yet? God! I loved it so much.  In fact, I think I might love this season a little bit more than last season...just because it was so much more intense.  If you haven't watched Stranger Things yet...you've got to! It is nostalgic, funny, spooky and so brilliant and man those kids are golden!!!  So let's jump into some thoughts and feelings I've had watching these 9 episodes...why can't we have more?!   Some Favourite Strange Things///  1. I loved this season. I was a little worried if the show would live up to the exceptions around it..given how incredible the first season was, this season was just as good. The first season was a little bit of a slow burn...it takes some time for the actio...

Weekend Reads/// Weekend Reading + Weekend Viewing.

Hello!  Another weekend and another bunch of books I want to read this weekend and what I plan on watch this weekend.  Or rather binge watch this weekend.  :)  First, my weekend reading plans.  I am still reading the absolutely wonderful Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls.  I am nearly done reading it and I am loving it.  It's so gorgeous all around.  My main read this weekend will be Death in the Clouds by Agatha Christie.  It's been a hot minute since I read any Christie and I want to fix that.  I am 76 pages and as always I am smitten and very, very into this book and this mystery.  Poirot is a great weekend companion.  What I am Watching This Weekend/// Now on to the show I plan on binge watching this weekend.  Master of None!  Oh! My God! This show is so good!  Season 1 was great. And Season 2 is pretty darn fantastic too. I have seen 4 episodes a...

Monthly Favourites/// January 2017.

Hello!!!  A whole month of the new year is gone.  Time flies and I am ok with it. No point sweating over it. :) January was a good month.  A long and nice month.  I read 14 books! I managed to get 31 posts up this month.  We had some real winter for a change.  I watched some wonderful TV shows and movies.  Wore loads of Indian clothes.  I journaled and really enjoyed my time spent making my journal as pretty as I can. You were good month January.  A good start to a New Year.  Let's see some of my favourite things from January.  1. Journal/// I am a list maker and resolution setter. So January is always about making resolutions for the New Year and this year was no different. I set up my new planner and journals and it has made me so happy.  Above- This is the front page of my journal. I used some botanical die-cuts and some stickers to decorate the front page.  ...

I am a card-carrying member of the Cumbercollective and have been one since 10 minutes into 'A Study in Pink' (oh yeah!). So, this show is LIFE! Any year that begins with a measly 3-4 episodes of Sherlock is a good year in my books! What a way to begin the year.. great writing, fantastic acting talent and three juicy mysteries! It is just ever die-hard fan of the show wants after waiting for two plus years for their Sherlock fix! Not enough nicotine patches in the world to capture the level ...

Friday Favourites: The First Friday of 2017! + Tea + PJs + Journal Pages + Sherlock Love!

Hello!  Happy Friday!  The first working week of 2017 is over. Was yours a long one?  My Friday was a long but happy day. A little bit of work. A little bit of reading and a whole lot of fun. :)  Here's hoping for more Friday's like this one!  Now on to some of my favourites from this week!  1. Sherlock is back! TBH, this first episode of Season 4 is not my favourite. It might be my least favourite episode of the entire show till date. It just wasn't special enough. But Sherlock is back on air and that is reason enough to celebrate!  :) Plus Toby, the blood hound, was so adorable. Cumberbatch & a dog, what more could I ask for?  2. Setting Goals for 2017/// This week has been spent making long lists and thinking about all the goals I'd like to achieve this year.  I've been thinking long and hard and trying to set some realistic and achievable goals for 2017.  3. Journa...
