Summer Thrillers 2025: Quick Reviews (Lisa Jewell, Kristin Offiler, Daphne Woolsoncroft)

Hello, hello, Since it is raining summer thrillers instead of actual rain (at least where I am), I thought I'd come over and review a few thrillers that I read and enjoyed recently. Let's get into it.  Book: Don't Let Him In  Author: Lisa Jewell  Pages: 368 Read on: Kindle  Read in: ~3 hours  Plot Summary:  He’s the perfect man. It’s a perfect lie. Nina Swann is intrigued when she received a condolence card from Nick Radcliffe, an old friend of her late husband, who is looking to connect after her husband’s unexpected death. Nick is a man of substance and good taste. He has a smile that could melt the coldest heart and a knack for putting others at ease. But to Nina’s adult daughter, Ash, Nick seems too slick, too polished, too good to be true. Without telling her mother, Ash begins digging into Nick’s past. What she finds is more than unsettling… Martha is a florist living in a neighboring town with her infant daughter and her devoted husband, Alista...

May Be Things Will Look Up.

Hello I’ve been missing in action.  I am still here.  May has been low-key brutal. But I’m still here.  Journaling and Planning.  Forever grateful for the grey skies and rains.  Finding solace in books and stories. Anything to escape real life.   I don’t know what happened this month, but I just kept ignoring and forgetting about this space. I didn’t mean to.  I promise. I walked into this month with a lot of joy and hope and then life happened. A whole lot of mess all at once. Ugg.  Life went on pause.  My Mum is seriously unwell. She has Dementia, she’s had multiple strokes. It’s bad, as bad as it can be. It feels unreal and all this month it has felt endless.  And most of my waking hours are spent scared and worried out of my mind.  So I just…hit pause.  I read a lot, binged old horror films, ate mangoes, slept, cried and survived summer. In June things will be better. Things will look up.  I hope. I pray. 🙏🏼 I d...

May Goals~ Read, Read & Read.

All I want to do this month is lose myself in my books and ignore the world and all my problems.

February Begins…

February begins with joy, hope and merriment.

Hello February ♒️My birthday month is Here! 🥳

Hello February 🪻🌸🪻🍀🌸🍀🪻🌸🪻 Hello my favourite month ever is here! I hope you are kind and happy and gentle and good February! I no longer feel super excited about my birthday but something about stepping into this month makes me happy. I hope this month I can do the things that make me happy and have a good birthday. Last February was the worst! I had the worst birthday month ever and I hope this time around I am shown a kinder time. I had a pretty good day.  Had coffee in a new mug. Watched a few films. Cleaned my home (in prep for Saraswati Puja).  And got some happy mail as well.  Here’s a look at today.  New book to read this month. &  A tiny purse. Very Chanel ✨inspired ✨.  I  am going to use her to store my charging cables.  A new friend. I am going to call her Baegoonie. In honour of Beguni (a brinjal fry from Bengali cuisine).  Love this little mug. Book Mail ✉️  Three books I am so excited to read soon!  I ...

Monday Moods: What I Read Today!

Hello Loves! Life’s been busy in the last few days, so I haven’t been reading all that much. This morning I picked up two adorable books and smiled my way through them.  Both have a common theme, they are about life lessons from our furry friends!  One from cats and the other from dogs!  🐶🐾🐈🐕🐈‍⬛🐩🐱🐾🐶 Here’s a look at some of my favourite pages from both books.  Eat. Play. Love. Life Lessons from my Dog by Emma Block: This book is pure love. Adorable, wise and so so beautiful. I read this with a big smile on my face and my heart full of joy, I gave this 5/5 stars and I highly recommend reading it. Now on to the book about cats.  This one has more sass (because cats) and is just as adorable!  Life Lessons from my Cat by Jamie Shelman: This one was sassy and funny and cute as hell. If you love cats, pick this book up, you’ll love it.
