Blogmas Day- 22: End of the Year TBR.

Hello!!! I have been reading without a TBR for a few months now. It wasn't a conscious decision or anything but it just happened. I would have an idea as to which books I wanted to read over the month but I didn't quite make a concrete plan. I do love making TBRs, in the long run it makes my reading life a little simpler. With only a few days left in the year I want to make a little TBR.  Today I want to share my End of the Year TBR.  The month and the year are drawing to a close and my reading plans for the last few days of the year are fairly simple.  I want to read some wintery books and some season appropriate books.  I wanted to read one book from my Puffin in Bloom Boxset and decided on A Little Princess.  These books are so gorgeous!  And classics and winter seem to be a good match!  I have a few of Kamala Markandaya's books on my shelves but I haven't read any of them.  Hoping to start w...

Book Haul: Anne of Green Gables by L.M Montgomery.

“I don't know, I don't want to talk as much. It's nicer to think dear, pretty thoughts and keep them in one's heart, like treasures. I don't like to have them laughed at or wondered over.”  These end pages are gorgeous as always in the case of these Puffin in Bloom editions.  “I went looking for my dreams outside of myself and discovered, it's not what the world holds for you, it's what you bring to it.”  “It's been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will.”  Another beauty from my Puffin in Bloom boxset.  Book: Anne of Green Gables  Author: L.M. Montgomery  Pages: 300 First Published in 1908  Plot Summary:   Everyone's favourite redhead, the spunky Anne Shirley, begins her adventures at Green Gables, a farm outside Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. When the freckled girl realises that the elderly Cuthberts wanted to adopt a...

Book Haul/// The Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. (Puffin in Bloom Edition)

The Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.  First published in 1905 is the story of a young girl sent to boarding school in London after living in India for years. The daughter of a wealthy man she is given special treatment a host of luxuries in her new school but all of that changes with the death of her beloved father.  A story of goodness and kindness and changing fortunes and inherent good in people's heart.  A timeless classic that I haven't read.  There is also an Indian character in it which interests me too.  And boarding school books are the best.  I can't wait to get to this book.  The end pages on this are beautiful as well.  More floral beauty.  Have you read this book?  What do you think?  Happy Reading Folks.

Book Haul// Little Women by Louisa May Alcott ( Puffin Bloom Edition.)

Little Women by Louise May Alcott.  Published first on September 30th 1868. A timeless classic about four sisters coming of age and growing into womanhood during the turbulent  Civil War years.  A book that brings comfort and warmth to the heart.  I first properly read this book two years ago and even though I was a full grown woman I loved this book and it's simplicity and charm.  To me it didn't seem very dated.  Of course, written in 1868 it's not exactly current but it's still so much of it is still relevant and relatable.  It is such a good read.  I cannot remount it enough.  A beautiful book in a stunning edition.  This book is truly a thing of beauty, inside and out.  “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”  ―  Louisa May Alcott ,  Little Women “I like good strong words that mean something…”  ―  Louisa May Alcott ,  Lit...
