Haul: Embroidered Jewellery from Rainbow Tales.

Hello Loves!  If you know me, you know I love love love things made by hand and I have a special soft spot for embroidered things. Both my Grandmothers were skilled embroiderers, so every time I buy a piece of embroidered something, I feel like it's something my Thamma and Dida would like.  :)  We've bought from Rainbow Tales and Rhichita before, a couple of time and we love her work and her artistry.  We recently bought a few pendants and two brooches and they are so lovely.  Here's a little look.  Here are the necklaces.  This is an edit of small pieces and I love them. So much more wearable and easy to just throw on.  I love the tiny florals so much. The lavender ones might be my favourite but I do love the little bee so damn much. So cute and see how neat everything is.  These are the brooches and they are so lovely.  Florals again because clearly I can't have enough.  :)  Do go check out her shop and treat yourself ...

Haul: Handmade Jewellery from Gemini Art and Craft.

Hello Loves!  I love jewellery and beaded and boho jewellery especially takes me back to my college days and reminds me of walking in flea markets and finding something beautiful and quirky to wear.  When I found Gemini Art and Craft I was reminded of the kind of jewellery I wore as a college student and I needed some of her creations in my life.  I got 3 earrings from her back in February and ordered a fresh batch of earrings this month too.  Here are my new acquisitions.  These earrings were love at first sight.  I love the quirkiness of these beauties.  Love the mix of colours, the textures and the beads and wool and cowries.  I can't wait to wear them.  The Goa vibe is so strong in these babies.  Love love love.  These are made from papier mache...I think.  They are super light weight and so pretty.  Immensely wearable.  These fish friends I bought for my sister.  A beautiful piece that will go with so...

Haul: Handmade Jewellery from Rainbow Tales.

Hello Loves!  Long time no haul.  So let's share something beautiful today.  I got some beautiful embroidered jewellery pieces in the mail yesterday.  Two gorgeous brooches and two pendant. All from Rainbow Tales by Rhichita.  This is my second time getting something from her and I am very impressed with everything I got.  First up are these stunning brooches.  The one above is originally was a earring that I felt would be too big for me and not something I'd wear often, so I got her to turn it into a brooch and I love how it's turned out.  Love the colours on this one.  This one I had my eye on for a long time and I am so glad I got it.  Love the mix of pink and orange.  Perfect!  Brooches are perfect!  She also sent me a free bookmark. It's embroidered and so lovely.  This Matsya pendant is a thing of joy.  My sister fell in love with it and we had to have it in our life.  She is tiny but immaculate...

Friday Favourites: Brooches and Rings from Naksha

Hello, hello, It is another Friday, not that these days it matters what day of the week it is, but it still merits some kind of celebration! I'll be sharing some beautiful brooches and rings that I recently ordered from Naksha , a little woman-run enterprise on Instagram.  In the past year, we have, especially, bought only from small businesses and, more so, from women-owned small businesses. It is our way of helping these businesses survive the pandemic.  Anyhoodles, let's get to the beautiful stuff!  First up is this ring. It features a woman and a bird surrounded by frangipani blooms. Isn't it lovely?!  Next up is this Gulmohur brooch. Gulmohur, also known as The Flame of the Forest, reminds me of home as the lane leading up to our home in Bombay is lined with Gulmohur trees, which would all be in bloom right now!  This is the ubiquitous Palash. A flower that is synonymous with spring in West Bengal. It is one of the flower...

Blogmas Day- 11 Haul: Jewellery from Needle Online.

Hello Loves!  My little pre-Christmas and year end shopping has been happening in bursts and bits and it's all beautiful handmade, small shops and mostly women owned businesses.  Is there anything better?  In fact, I recently realised that I have ONLY shopped from small businesses all of this year.  I went to the mall once and only bought skincare from bigger brands, everything else I'v bought has been from homegrown brands.  And I am so proud and happy to have done that. Nothing makes me happier than supporting small business and buying handmade things.  I've bought from Sompeedle before, quite a few times before, and every single time I am blown away by her artistry.  This time is no different. We ordered three absolutely beautiful things for her and I am so in love with every single thing.  First up, we got this beautiful necklace in mostly primary colours.  I love the embroidery and the flowers and fish.  This is the kinda thi...

Whimsy Wear: Pink!

Hello!  Long time no outfit post.  So let's change that right now. Well, this is no recent outfit.  In fact, this is an outfit from last year, in October end I wore this very pink number for Kojagori Lokkhi Pujo, Bengali's Lakshmi Puja. It was a fairly warm evening, back in the hometown and I wanted to wear something comfy and breathable instead of something more dressy. Plus, this was strictly a family thing so not like I had to dress up a ton.  I wore this gorgeous cotton number with palazzo pants to stay comfy and we nimble enough to run errands and hand out prasaad and help with little Pujo things.  I did wear a lot of silver, well she is the Goddess of wealth after all :) Plus Maa wanted me to have some 'real' jewellery on.  These aren't the best pictures but these are the only ones I snapped.  :(  Love the subtle floral print on this kurta.  Love my little accessories.  WHAT I WORE...
