2016 Reading and Blog Resolutions.

Hello!  I am a big Resolutions maker. I like having my goals for the year written down and I love keeping track of them. I love seeing my list in the end of the year and seeing how I fared.  For years I made a general list of Resolutions...for life and living.  But for the last few years I've been making specific resolutions for my Reading and much more recently for my blog.  I thought I'd share my Reading and Blog Resolutions for 2016.. Do you make resolutions?  READING RESOLUTIONS!  1. Read 100 Books/// This is my set goal for Good Reads Reading Challenge. If I surpass this goal--good. If not I will still be find. I read 224 books last year and I will be happy if I get close to that number. Basically, I don't want my reading to be all about numbers and making it to a certain number. Reading gives me joy and happiness. I don't want a number to guide my reading life.  2. Read More Diversely/// The whole reading world i...

Book Haul/// Books of January 2016 + Colouring Books!

Hello!  Time for the first book haul of 2016.  I haven't bought any books since November end. December was no book buying month for me. It just happened that way. It wasn't a plan or anything.  Since January I've been itching, ever so slightly, to buy some new books.  Just a few.  I got one fiction book... The All Bengali Crime Detective-II, The Mysterious Death of Probhat Sanyal. I have wanted this book ever since it came out in the end of 2015. The author very sweetly wrote me an email telling me of the book's release. :) I meant to get it and read it as my first read of 2016 but December was crazy busy I didn't end up ordering it.  But better late than never. I have read it already and I will do a review super soon. :)  The rest of this haul is Adult Colouring Books! They are all the rage. And for good reason!  I've wanted these babies of ages...but all the famous, super hyped ones are sooooooo fre...

Monday Moods: Shop Love~~~ iTokri--- Favourite Online Store!

Hello!  And a Happy Monday folks.  For today's Monday Moods I want to talk about my all time favourite place to shop for all things Indian-indie-handicrafts and handloom.  If you are looking for a place to find unique and beautiful handmade things iTokri has got to be on your radar.  I've been shopping here since 2012 and I've found some delightful things always.  I love browsing on the website and always finding things I love---bags, jewellery, notebooks, home decor items and shawls and stoles and adorable little things.  I was recently on the site and ordered myself some small treats--- Madhubani coasters and some solid perfumes in little tins.  I want some other things, as always, but I was good and limited myself to a few things. Once they arrive in the mail, I'll do a little haul on the blog.  Coasters with beautiful Madhubani art on it.  Solid perfumes in natural scents in gorgeous tins....

Stationery Sunday: Journal Pages and Supplies.

Hello!  Hope this Sunday is treating you well.  For this edition of Stationery Sunday I want to share my journal and journal pages.  I want to journal and document my life better in 2016. Keep a note of little things. Write down my thoughts and feelings and just put pen to paper.  So far in the year, I've been good with writing my thoughts down. And I hope to keep at it for the rest of the year.  I am using an Accessorise ruled paper journal as my personal journal this year.  I love this journal. The paper quality is fantastic and takes all kinds of ink really well.  I decorate the pages with stickers and bits of Washi Tape.  I am keeping it simple and just adding pops of colour with via pretty bits and bobs.  Writing down and journaling really helps when I am feeling things a little intensely. Apart from the joy of writing and keeping a track of my seemingly ordinary days, writing is a release and something I enjoy a ...

Project 365 2016: Week 2!

Hello!  Another week has gone by and it's time to recap my life in the last week.  This was a strange and in someways sad week... The death of two legends.. David Bowie. Alan Rickman.  I am particularly torn up about Alan Rickman. He was so wonderful as Severus Snape. He will be so missed.  Then this week also marked with terror attacks in Istanbul and Jakarta.  :(  The world just needs a big hug.  Let's see my week in pictures... Day 8 of 366: Setting up my bag. I got this with Mughal art print on it from Limeroad and I had wanted it for ages and but held off buying it and finally got it for nearly 500 bucks off on it. Total win! I love this bag..backpack...it fits everything and I love that this bag can swing both ways. Indian clothes and Western clothes.  Day 9 of 366: An adorable postcard that we use to decorate our closets. This was a gift..a very apt gift  with a perfect message on it. This was...

Friday Favourites: Murakami + NOTD+ Tea + Kolhapuris + Miss Giggles.

Hello!  Hope this Friday is treating you well.  I am a little bummed out this Friday. The passing of Alan Rickman makes me so sad. :( He was such a gifted actor and he was so wonderful as Snape but he was also so much more. This has been a  week of losing legends. David Bowie and now Alan Rickman.  :(  Moving on... My favourites this week are...  1. Murakami. .he celebrated his birthday earlier in the week and this got me thinking of how much wonder he squeezes into his books and how much I adore his writing. A Happy Belated Birthday to my favourite author.  2. My sister's feet in a pair of classic black and gold Kolhapuri sandals.  3. &4. NOTD ...meaning Nails of the Day...or in my case Nails of the Week.
