Comic Book Recommendations: 3 Comics I've Recently Loved.

Hello!

I have been reading a few comic books here and there and I haven't been talking about them on the blog.
So I figured I'd just talk about some of the comic books I've been loving.

Book: Revival

Writers: Tim Seeley and Mike Norton

Premise: For one day in rural central Wisconsin, the dead came back to life. Now it's up to Officer Dana Cypress to deal with the media scrutiny, religious zealots, and government quarantine that has come with them. In a town where the living have to learn to deal with those who are supposed to be dead, Officer Cypress must solve a brutal murder, and everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.

Review: Such a fun and atmospheric read. This comic book is genuinely creepy and scary in parts. Plus there is lots of mystery and suspense regarding why these people are coming back to life. I really enjoyed this comic and I am very interested in seeing where this story goes and see all the things explained.

Rating: 4/5

Book: The Runaways

Writer: Brian K Vaughan

Premise: They were six normal teenagers linked only by their wealthy parents' annual business meeting...until a chance discovery revealed the shocking truth: their parents are the secret criminal society known as the Pride! For years, the Pride controlled all criminal acti vity in Los Angeles, ruling the city with an iron fist...and now, with their true natures exposed, the Pride will take any measures necessary to protect their organization - even if it means taking out their own children! Now on the run from their villainous parents, Nico, Chase, Karolina, Gertrude, Molly and Alex have only each other to rely on.

Review: This is such a fun and action packed comic. 6 teens trying to out smart their super-villain parents and all sorts of fun. Plus there are super-powers and magical powers and all sorts of amazing things. Very fun and fast-paced.

Rating: 3.5/5

Book: Sex Criminals

Writers: Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky

Premise: Suzie's just a regular gal with an irregular gift: when she has sex, she stops time. One day she meets Jon and it turns out he has the same ability. And sooner or later they get around to using their gifts to do what we'd ALL do: rob a couple banks. A bawdy and brazen sex comedy for comics begins here.

Review: This is pretty much one of my favourite comic book I've recently read. So fun and it was soooo funny. I just loved the humour and I loved the quirky and strange premise. And for a comic book there is so much character development and so much background information and details. You really get to know the characters- especially Suzie and Jon. We see them in the past and we see them handle their 'gift'. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to read more from this series.
