A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini/// My first official read of the year and one that I am so happy to get back to. Honestly, I remember next to nothing about this book and I am happy to be reminded of the story and the it's people.
I remember LOVING it when I first read it in 2009..2008..I am not entirely sure.
Like I said over on Instagram, I don't own a copy of this book and had read it back in the day after borrowing it from my library in Bangalore.
This copy belongs to my sister's office. I was there on Thursday and saw it sitting on the bookshelf and decided to give it a read.
So happy reading it.
Ten Dollar Bride by Sanya Runway/// Now on to something I've already read. I read this very quick read in the early hours of this morning. It is only 56 pages long and is an easy, yet deep and relevant read. Short stories centred around the many issues and social ills that affect Indian girls and women. Dowry deaths, Acid Attacks, Stalking, Rape and similar horrendous evils.
Well- written and thoughtful and thought provoking.
I read it via my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I rate it a solid 3/5
Another main activity of this weekend is setting up my Book Journal for 2018. I chose this gorgeous Rifle Paper Co journal.
I will share a proper post about my book journal and a flip through the pages.
This is the front page that I did up last night, decorated using goodies from my Planner Society Kit and stickers from La Dolce Vita and my favourite bookish washi tape.
It's so beautiful...even if I do say so myself.

My sister is way too gripped and engrossed in her current read. She has been reading it all evening and can't seem to put it down!

We bought this book on our Kindle yesterday and it sounds pretty amazing and has some rave reviews on Good Reads.
