Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: September, October and November 2023!!!! {56 Books + Mini-Reviews.}

 Hello Loves!  I really let the ball drop on my Monthly Reading Wrap-Ups!  I read so many books in September that by the end of the month I felt lazy or overwhelmed to sit down and talk about all the books and then as October ended..that feeling just got worse! Procrastination is my number one nemesis.  :(  And now here we are.  At the end of November and I have three whole months to write about.  And I know, if I don't play catch-up now I'll feel terrible later.  So today I am going to sit down with my Reading Journal (thank God I make notes and keep up with my book journaling) and write down all my thoughts about allll the books I've read in the last three months.  So grab a cup of coffee or chai and get cozy and let's talk books.  Let's Begin.  BOOKS OF SEPTEMBER 2023:   I stepped out of Indian Books in August and all I wanted to do in September was read from around the world and maybe take a break from Indian Lit. I was also in a major mood for thrillers. Alas,

Things That Make Me Happy: Bags, Stationery + Cameras

Hello Loves!  Today I got around to downloading some pictures from my Big Camera. Funny how I barely even use my Big Camera. I mainly use it only when I travel and even then..it doesn't get used nearly as much as it used to back in the day.  I remember buying my first proper digital camera, a Nikon in bright pink that took decent pictures and made me so happy. Then in a few years I upgraded to a Canon and a few years later another upgrade was made. This was in 2018, when I last bought a camera. But since then...it just makes more sense to me (as a regular person with a blog and a photo taking habit) to invest in a decent phone that also takes amazing pictures. I no longer feel the urge to look up new cameras or even dream of buying a super nice camera. Funny how in under a decade my whole outlook towards cameras have changed so drastically.  I am sure, eventually, most people, those of us who aren't professionals photogs will just stop buying a recreational camera altogether an

Monday Moods: Stationery Loves Lately.

Hello Loves🪷 Happy Monday to you. Unless you’re an Indian cricket fan, this Monday might find you a little blue. Well, it sucks. But what can you do? It’s a game and we win some and we sure lose some. You just have to roll with the punches.  Let’s talk stationery instead. Hear some recent loves of mine.  A new journal dedicated to my new writing project. A stash of my favourite stickers.  Reading Journal pages for this month.  And a new magnetic bookmark I love.  Stickers and Postcards. All part of the process when you’re setting up a new journal. Found a tin of stickers recently while going through a suitcase. Mostly stickers from my favourite La Dolce Vita and Bon Stickers and some other older bits from my stash. The first few pages of my NaNoWriMo journal, a journal that’s dedicated to my work in progress.  I love how this turned out. This bookmark from Riya Designs is a new favourite.  November pages in my book journal. Before the ink and bookish thoughts. Love how this spread tur

Diwali Vignettes 2023

 Hello, hello, I hope you are doing well and (if you celebrate) have had a lovely Diwali!  Ours was low-key and quiet but so peaceful.  Sharing some moments from our little celebration.  Our small altar for Goddess Lakshmi.  Sparklers! We bought two packets of sparklers and lit them for some joy.  Light  Lights  Since there is construction work happening in our building, our kandeels were indoors :) The neighbourhood all lit up :)

Vignettes: Days of November. {Books, Writing, Coffee, Backpacks and Mini-Review.}

 Hello Loves!  How is November treating you so far?  My days are a blur of writing, NaNoWriMo are going well. I have written some 20 pages of my novel so far and mapped out some important plot points. It's going good.  Reading has been decidedly slow. Like I knew it would be. No complaints there. I am more than happy to focus on my book and not on reading.  Other than that, it's been bleak, my building is doing some very noisy repairs and it's hell. I just can't with the dust and the noise and everything else that comes with construction. I am seriously considering running away. for real, just pack my bags and run away somewhere.  UGH.  Working on my book.  This brings me so much joy.  I try to write everyday but I don't force myself.  I take days off when I feel like it.  Then I write like a maniac on other days.  Basically, I do what works for me.  A sun-kissed bag and brooch moment.  The bag is from this shop called Buddha Land and I love it, it's made from h

Stationery Sunday: Planner for 2024. The Ink Bucket Planner.

 Hello Loves!  It's that time of the year, when Planner Girlies have their planners for next year alll lined up. I was confused for the longest time and then I saw The Ink Bucket and their launch and seeing that the planners were soooo much slimmer and more compact, I decided to go right back to it. I, for one, am super happy that they decided to do away with the extra pages and the journal elements of the planner. I almost never used these extra bits and I do like my Planner to be just that, A PLANNER.  So back to an old favourite I went.  In case you didn't know, I have used The Ink Bucket Planners for a few years before this.  In 2019, 2021 and 2022.  2024 will be fourth time using the planner.  I picked this gorgeous version, I love that they do a few styles and there is so much room for choice.  I love the colours and the bold florals.  The navy blue just sings and looks really mature and grown-up.  I love it.  The mint green is also lovely and I was town between the two

Hello November 2023 + Current Reads and NaNoWriMo.

  Hello Loves!  Can you even believe November is here?  November always feels like it's time to wind down and rest and get ready for the slower and brighter months of the year. We prepare for Diwali and get our homes in order and then celebrate the festival of lights.  I am always happy when November rolls around. It's always a month for joy and love. It's my sister's birthday and we try to do little things we enjoy all month long.  Eat good food.  Go to her favourite places.  Watch her favourite films.  Read some good books.  I am so happy November is here again.  This November I am participating in NaNoWriMo. Which is a month long writing challenge, the goal is to write a novel in a month. Now it could be something you are already working on or it could be an entirely new thing. I do have some half-written projects that I could work on but I am choosing to focus something new and flesh out and work on an idea that I've had since 2021. So I figured it's high ti
