 Hello Loves!  Time for a little book haul.  I got these books a few weeks ago, some books I have wanted to read for a while, I bought these on a day when I was feeling a little blue, so this is essentially a little 'cheer myself up' book haul.  :)  Let's quickly jump into it.  BOOKS BOUGHT:   Ikigai by Hector Garcia Francesc Miralles: Something everyone seems to have read and loved and raved about. I have been meaning to read this for ages and I am so happy I finally got my hands on it. I am hoping to read it this month itself and see what the fuss is all about.  Azadi by Arundhati Roy: I have already read and LOVED this book. It was my last read of April and it was a splendid way to end my month. These essays about India today and the painful level of intolerance and what it means to write fiction in this world..was seriously well-done and thought provoking.  Hello Loves!  Today let's look at some amazing literary fiction reads of mine from 2021. Some amazing books you need to read! And all of these books, in spite of being Literary Fiction they are all very, very accessible and very easy to read and love.  Let's just jump in shall we?  1. The Mountains Sing by Nguyen Phan Que Mai: This book just...broke my heart and these people, these characters just held my heart and will always stay with me. So so good. Seriously this might be the best thing I read all year.  Set in Vietnam  for nearly a century this powerful novel is a family saga and a swift lesson in Vietnamese history and everything they've had to survive. I am so so so happy I read this book and  I implore you to pick it up if you haven't already. This is something I will definitely re-read in the future. Absolutely luminous and amazing! Hope your weekend has gotten off to a good start!  It's the Holi weekend here in India and in a different time, we'd be gearing up to celebrate the festival of colours with sweets and colours!  However, we are doing the best we can and reading some great books!  My sister is reading a collection of short stories by Haruki Murakami called Men Without Women.  Plot Summary:  Across seven tales, Haruki Murakami brings his powers of observation to bear on the lives of men who, in their own ways, find themselves alone. Here are vanishing cats and smoky bars, lonely hearts and mysterious women, baseball and the Beatles, woven together to tell stories that speak to us all. Hello!  Long time no book haul.  It's not surprising since I've been on holiday since 28th September and book buying has been pretty minimal. I did acquire a handful of books while in Darjeeling, haul coming soon.  This batch of books were bought in the end of September. For some reason, it seems so long ago.  I went to Title Waves in Bandra after ages, like 5 years or something. I really like this bookshop. It houses some very different books and if you find yourself in Bombay or Bandra in particular, I highly recommend you pop in for a visit.  I, of course, went a little bit crazy. Like seriously, I ought to have done better. But in my defence, I went here straight from having a tiny medical procedure done and was buying these books to cheer myself up!  :)  I had been brave at the doctor's and now it was time to treat myself to come books!  So all of these books came back home with me.  Let's see what I added to my b...

Hello!  Someday I hope to be the kind of person that only brings their Kindle on their vacation. Or maybe one book or two. Today is not that day.  I am in my parent's hometown for the next month and more and I have come with 9 books to read while I am here. Now, these books are both for my sister and I, so don't judge too harshly.  I, also, of course have my Kindle as well. So I am all covered when it comes to my reading plans for the next month.  Oh and I came here to find 2 books that were gifted to me by my sister-in-law as part of the wedding gift.
