Hello November 2026!

Image
Hello November! Hello Kali Pujo. Hello Diwali. Hello my sister's birthday month.  Hello Scorpio Season.  🍂🍁🌰☕🍄🍊 I am hoping this month is gentle and kind and soft and all kinds of wonderful. My last November was full of pain and I'm hoping this year is so much better.  This is how I started my month:  Decorated my planner pages for November and gave my sister's birthday special attention.  :)  Read this easy, breezy rom-com last night.  I don't usually read romances and maybe pick up one or two a year. This one is about childhood best-friends getting estranged and them four years later meeting again and falling for each other. It was sweet enough and decent, not great but ok-ish.  2.50/5.  This is what I am currently reading: Evenings and Weekends by Oisin McKenna, I've heard so many good things about this and I think all the buzz is justified, I am about 12% in and I'm loving it so far. I've gone into this one pretty blind and so...

Durga Pujo 2026! Also, Subho Bijoya!

Subho Bijoya! May Maa bless you with joy, peace and kindness.  This year was a very different experience for me. Stayed home and say Maa on TV and going by when she arrived, so I had a dinky darshan.  I hope next year is better and I am slightly better.  Here is what Pujo looked like:  My Pujo read, I read half of this in April for Nobo Borsho and read the rest of it during Pujo.  Parar Pujo.  Baba clicked this picture.  My 2027 planner arrived.  A chunky cat came to visit.  Tried to find joy in little things.  Journaled about my Pujo.  A very Bengali bookmark.  I hope this festive season has been good for you and yours.  Dugga Dugga.

Hello October & Dugga Dugga 🙏🏼

Hello October 🌾🍁🪷🍁🌾 Dugga Dugga ❤️ Started my month with some pandal hopping and praying to Maa Durga for better days and joy and hope.  Here is what today looked like: many pretty protimas and pandals. Feeling a little festive.  Pujo has been a little quiet this year because it’s hard to imagine Pujo without Maa. We’ve stayed home all these days and only ventured out today.  Felt good to be out and about in the world and go see Maa Durga and her kids.  Hoping and praying that the rest of the month is just as nice.

It’s my birthday.  And here’s what today looked like:  Read Ruskin Bond, which is a birthday tradition. Ate a fresh fruit salad. Got two new books in the mail.  Had cake.  Had coffee in a new mug.  Felt special and cozy.
