Vignettes: Saturday Slowness.

Image
  Cute new bookmarks from Book Charms that speak to my bookish heart.  Something Sweet 🍬🍭🍬 A fresh fruit cake.  A day of rest and rejuvenation.  Welcome to Paradise by Twinkle Khanna: Read this incredible book that I enjoyed more than I thought I would.  A collection of short stories about humans and lives and longing and aging and relationships. Some stories longer than others, but all remarkably moving, observant and poignant.  Easily, Khanna's best work so far.  I absolutely adored it.  Rating: 4.5/5  Cup of ☕ coffee.  My Saturday was full of little joys- a good book, good food and chilling out and long fun conversations with my parents.  A perfect sort of Saturday.

General Whimsy: Coffee Loving.

  Nothing like a cup of coffee to lift my mood.  Bought these yellow blooming mug from Weaving Homes recently and I love how bright and cheery it is.  I am still drinking my coffee cold because Mumbai is resolutely not having a winter.  But no complains, I am a through and through cold coffee girlie ☕

Favourite Mugs of 2022. {Blogmas Day- 7.}

Hello Loves!  Let's kick off the listing off my favourite things of 2022 with sharing my favourite mugs of the year.  I love me mug, honestly I cannot resist a cute mug when I see one...which is a little bit of problem.  This year I bought mugs from some new places and some old constant faves.  Here are my absolute favourite mugs from 2022...used for coffee (for most part), tea occasionally and even juice..I am not a glass person for some reason.  1. Goopy Bagha Mug from Alom Merch : First up we have this super nostalgic mug from Alom Merch. A little tribute to Ray and his magic and Bhooter Raja and some elements of the iconic Goopy Bagha films.  A perfect mug for a Ray fan.  Love this guy.  My Thamma used to do his voice for us when we were little and I love him a little extra just because of it.    Love love love.  2. Chumbak Mugs : I can't possibly have a list of favourite mugs without having Chumbak on the list.  I always...

Hello June!

Image
  Hello June! Happy 9th Birthday to this little blog! :)  Started out June by visiting with an aunt and uncle who I had not met in 4 years! Had a lovely adda and PNPC (beloved Bengali acronym for gossip!) session along with yum Bengali snacks!  Sharing some pics of my evening!  Hoping this month is kind to all of us!  My Mom's childhood home's Kaali temple. So many stories and so many fun memories for all of us are held here.  My uncle was a tea planter and is a certified tea taster. He was known for his amazing tea blends whilst he was in the business. Even today, he gave us some really great Assam tea! But this, oh betrayal!, is coffee! :)  Even a short visit ten-minutes away meant getting out of my pyjamas and into some "outside world" clothes! Wore a soft cotton kurti from Inji and this lovely handmade pendant by Banerii. Both bought off their Instagram stores!  Have a great month ahead, guys!

5 Things on Our Wishlist Right Now.

Image
 Hello, hello! Wanted to quickly share the top 5 things that are on my sister and my wishlist right now! These are big and small things and we look at these as little treats to ourselves for surviving these times! :) Also since this is my Birthday Month I am always looking for presents for myself :)  1. Uni-Ball One Gel Pens  I just love gel pens and can't have enough of them! These newest gel pens from Uni-ball are supposed to be rich and can write to surfaces like vellum as well! We use a lot of vellum paper in our journals and being able to write on them is a huge plus!  2. SoftCover Purple Notebook from myPaperClip  These softcover notebooks from myPaperClip look perfect for my 'daily pages' (where I write my feelings, thoughts, events of the day in a more free-flowing, stream of consciousness manner) journal! Plus, isn't that colour so cute?!  3.  Small Drawer Pouch from Hobonichi My sister is eyeing this stationery pouch from ...

To Ray on His 100th Birthday!

Image
 Happy Birthday, Satyajit Ray!  Thank you for the films.  For Goopy and Bagha.  For Feluda.  For Topshe.  For the wonderful Jatayu.  For Professor Shankhu.  For bringing some amazing women characters alive in your cinema.  Your genius and creativity has made this world a better place.  And made me so proud to be a Bengali.  Label Maati made these beautiful pieces to commemorate Ray's centennial and I am so glad I got some of  these beautiful pieces to have and cherish forever. Poulomi has really outdone herself. Her work is spectacular in general, but this collection is out of this world.  These beauties are so brilliantly made, light-weight and so wearable.  Plus, look how beautiful this work is!  Look at Goopy and Bagha.  This makes me so happy.  Goopy Gayne Bagha Byne.  The iconic visual from Joy Baba Felunath .  Uff!  These images and his films are such a part of our lives and culture...

Haul: Ceramic Jewellery from Label Maati.

Hello Loves!  Today I want to share some stunning jewellery pieces from Label Maati.  This is my second time getting something from her and her jewellery is truly special.    A bird brooch.  My sister has a thing for birds and so we had to get it.  An over view of everything we got.  Love these earrings.  The good thing is that they are super light weight so wearing them will not be a problem.  Then we have these two gorgeous necklaces.  The one above is a unique design and wonderful colour combination of grey and red, I have a feeling it will go with a lot of different things.  This yellow one might be my favourite!  Yellow. Flowers. Circle. Ghungroos.  Perfection!  Poulami makes such things of beauty and is a wonderful person too.  I cannot recommend her enough.  Everything from ordering to delivery is smooth.  Her jewellery is handmade, light weight and aesthetic and one of a kind.  I highly re...
