Hello Loves!  Where are the rains? It's nearly end of June and the rains are playing hard to get.  So here's a little throw back to these glorious flowers in the hills of Kurseong.  Oh God take me back to the hills.    Flowers + Mountains are a sure shot way to make me happy.  I cannot wait to go back to the hills. 

 Hello Loves!  Today I am throwing it back to the time in March when I made a little day-trip to the hills. The only time I went to the hills this year. Hai what a tragedy! Hopefully 2022 has me in the hills more and longer.  I had crossed Margaret's Deck a lot of times but for one reason or another we never stopped for a cup of tea, mainly because we are either excited to just get to Darjeeling or we usually stop at the Kurseong Tourist Lodge for momos and sandwiches, so it feels a little silly to stop so soon after. But for this time we were determined to stop and see this much hyped place for ourselves.  Here are some pictures from our short stop over.  Ah! An aesthetic paradise. Hello Loves!  Would give anything to go somewhere beautiful and fun.  The hills.  The Tea Gardens.    Oh to be surrounded by flowers again!  Blue skies.  The mountains.  Trees.  A mouthful of sky and feeling calm.  I would love nothing more than an old fashioned picnic.  Like the ones from our childhood and storybooks?  Yummy food, games and laughs!  These flowers make me so happy.  I am beginning to feel a little bit stir crazy and would honestly give anything for things to be better and hit the road and find myself in a new place.  Once I get the second dose of my vaccine, I am hoping to run off to Darjeeling for a few days.  I cannot wait to be back.  Walk and people watch at the Mall.  Shop for curios.  Watch the fog rolling.  Feel cozy and happy being bundled up.  I hope it happens soon because I am *this* close to losing my mind. 

Hello Loves!  What a lovely day it's been!  Today, I left my home for the first time since October.  I dressed up. Hello!  On my recent visit to Kalimpong, we drove up to Lava, a little town 30 kms from the city up in the hills. The drive itself was gorgeous, winding roads and rains and clouds. Some stretches were in dire states, the road was quite bumpy and there were several patches where repair work was on going, so I am hoping that it will be fixed soon.  Once we got to Lava, the rains really got going. It was pouring hard and by the time we got out of the car and to the monastery we were soaked.  Hence most of these pictures are liberally covered in raindrops.  Sadly, we didn't make it to inside the monastery, given the rains and the slightly steep walk,  I got close enough but I was soaked and even my poor camera was getting wet.  Here are some pictures.  Prayer Flags dancing in the breeze.  Raindrops adding their own bokeh effect.  The entire place was full of all kinds of ferns.  I don't know ...

Yellow Lillies for the win.  On my recent trip to Kalimpong, we stayed in a hotel right next to Delo park. We chose to stay away from the hubbub of the main city and amidst nature and clouds. And it was the best decision we ever made.  Delo was under constant cloud cover. It honestly felt like I was living in the clouds. It was cold and cozy and lovely.  Plus, it rained almost every day. Bliss!  On our last full day here, we finally went to Delo Park. An eco park full of walking tracks and flowers.  We spent over an hour here walking around and taking in the views and all the lush greenery around us.  You could also live inside Delo park if you wanted.  There is government guest house that could book a room in.  But given how busy the park gets in the morning and afternoon, I don't think this will be a most relaxing spot in the world to stay in. Especially in winter, huge groups of people come here for picnics ...
