Monthly Favourites: March 2020.

Hello!  This is an odd month to be doing monthly favourites in. I mean, I considered skipping this month altogether but figure even in this not-so-perfect time, there were things and moments that lifted the gloom from my heart.  So here are things that I loved this month.  1. Chai: I am a more dedicated Coffee drinker. But this month I've been drinking and finding a lot of comfort in a well brewed cup of tea. I like mine with ginger and cardamon and with a biscuit to dunk in it. I think it takes me back to my childhood and the comfort of having a little treat now and again.  2. Simple Home Cooked Meals: This quarantine has resulted in a lot of cooking. A lot of simple meals put together and that have resulted in some deliciousness.  In the picture is a roasted pepper and chicken pasta with a cream sauce. This took under half an hour to put together.  3. Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser: My skin has been a hot ...

Haul: Make-Up from Nykaa --- Masaba by Nykaa + Etude House & Skincare from Kama Ayurveda and Plum.

Hello!  I recently made a little Nykaa order, mainly fuelled by my interest in the new line of makeup by Masaba Gupta for Nykaa. I totally fell for the gorgeous packaging and couldn't resist getting a few bits from the line to try out.  And I am super happy with the results.  I got two nude lipsticks. Cool Guy & Numbu Paani and their matching nail paints because I really enjoy the Nykaa nail polishes.  The colours are lovely and pigmented and the packaging is perfect! I am so tempted to go back for more.  Cool Guy!  I also got a lip and cheek tint from Etude House.  I have bought two Benefit tints earlier this year and one from The Face Shop and I am a tint convert. So when I saw one from Etude House for fairly cheap I thought I'd give it a try.  I also got-  A basic Kajal from Nykaa.  A Plum eye cream--which is pretty good, worth a shot if you are in the market for one.  I ...

Friday Favourites: Favourite Indian Skincare + Haircare! (Just Herbs, Kama Ayurveda and More.)

Hello & Welcome to another edition of Friday Favourites.  Today I want to share some of my favourite Indian Skincare and Haircare Recommendations.  Lately, I am become a little careful and more interested in the matter of skincare. For years I was blessed with good skin and I took it for granted. Then I moved to Bangalore and while some deal with asthma related problems on the moving to the city, I dealt with some major skin irritants. I would break out and once the acne subsided I was left with some ghastly acne scars!  :(  Damn! How I missed the teenage good skin I had taken for granted!  I began to invest in good skincare, mainly from Lush- which has since left India and Clinique- I had a hit and miss situation with this brand.  Now, I love all things Keihls but I also love looking into gentler, milder and more homegrown options.  Herbal and ayurvedic products that are chemical free and gentle to my skin have become my now ...

Monthly Favourites/// May and June 2017.

Hello!  June is over and May is long gone, but I forgot to list my loves from May, I did love a whole lot of things from May. So I thought I'd combine 2 months and share all of the things I've loved best in the last 2 months.  May and June were both happy months in my life, inspite of May's mind-numbing heat.  June was all about Rains. Ice-cream sundaes! Chai. Reading quite a bit.  Cleaning my bookshelves.  Getting some books I've wanted for a long time.  You were good June!  Now let's jump into my favourites.  MAY and JUNE  2017 FAVOURITES!  1. Indian Summer Style/// May saw me add some beautiful pieces to my desi shelf.  :)  Kurtas, bags and even a wee bit of jewellery.  The only way to navigate an Indian summer is to wear Indian fabrics and styles.  This bunch of beauties is from Okhai.  2. Bullet Journaling/// May is when I started Bujo for the first...

2016 Favourites: Best of Beauty & Make-up 2016.

Hello!  The listing of favourites continues.  For tonight's post I want to list all of my favourite beauty and make-up bits. I am a low-key beauty lover. Make-up always makes me happy and finding the perfect lipstick or eye shadow brings me joy.  I also love trying out new make-up bits. Skincare is something I think all of us should invest some time in.  :) We all have skin, so why not make time to do something nice for it? 2016 was a challenging year for my skin. For close to 2 months, June-July and even bits of August I had terrible skin. Active breakouts almost every day and really dry lips. I mostly hate pimples because they are so freaking painful and of course unsightly as well. I tried everything. Changed my face wash and put on spot applicators and prayed and hoped for good skin. Then I let it go. I mean, how much can you worry about something that is mostly out of our control?!  The one thing that saved my skin and stopped the ...
