Dear Diary: 7.1.25

Dear Diary,  Today was a good day.  I took down my Christmas Tree and even packed it away in the loft. Always a bittersweet feeling. Tidied up the flat and even sorted through and moved my coffee mugs around.  Had a cup of delicious cardamom tea, the weather has cooled down and it was a perfect morning to enjoy some chai.  Watched an amazing Bengali film called Habji Gabji on Hoichoi which shows the perils of video game addiction and how harmful it can be for young kids.  Also re-watched Godzilla Minus 1 and loved it.  Read a little and had a very chill day.  So grateful 🧿 for these mellow days of early January.  Here's what today looked like..

Friday Favourites: Things I Loved this Week.

Hello Loves!  Time for another batch of Friday Faves from my corner of the world.  Here's everything I loved this week.  Rainy pages in my gratitude journal.  The Lion Women of Tehran by  Marjan Kamali, finished reading this amazing book earlier this morning and I loved it.  It's full of heart and incredible women.  So good.  Do pick it up.  I also adored The Stationery Shop by the same author back when I read it, so this one I knew I had to read and I knew I would love.  Chai and Chai themed bookmarks.  I have been loving my gratitude journal lately and I've been lowkey using this as my daily journal as well.  Quite enjoyed Kakuda, a horror comedy now streaming on Zee 5. It was funny, spooky and sweet in parts.  Washed these two plushies and they are as good as new.

Vignettes: A Few Rain Soaked Days.

The last few days have been gloriously rainy and it's made my heart happy.  So I've done all things that make me happy, uncomplicatedly happy.  Making chai. Drinking chai.  Reaching for a Ruskin Bond book of cozy stories.  Make little notebooks.  Watched the rain.  Read two five star books.  Just goooood things galore.  Books and Chai 🌧☕📖 a match made in heaven.  I made another tiny notebook out of extra pages from my last month's journal and packaging from Joyeeta. The paper was too cute to throw away.  Reading books of poetry.  Fun Fact: I only really drink tea when it's raining or in the middle of winter or if I have a fever.  Otherwise I am a dedicated coffee drinker.  Behind You is the Sea by Susan Muaddi Darraj is a collection of interconnected short stories about Palestinian Americans and I loved this book.  5/5 I can't recommend it enough.  July has been kind so far and I hope the rest of the mont...

Monday Moods: A Rainy Monday.

Monday Involved:  Loads of pouring rain. Thank God, we needed it.  Some cozy Reading.  Chai. With a lot of ginger.  Journaling.  Sleep.  Washing my plushies.  Watching the rains.  Jamuns.

April Days: Chai and Calm.

The moon tonight looks unreal. 🌙 The Eid ka Chaand is in a league of it's own.  A cup of cold coffee to survive these hot days. I shudder to think what the rest of summer will feel like. God help us all.  Some new books sitting pretty in a quiet corner of home 🏠  A book haul is coming soon. I've really been flopping at sharing my new books on here, even though I've been buying a few books every month.  A bookmark on break.  A cup of elaichi chai 🫖  Words of wisdom. 💛 Life lately has included..  Good Food.  Some reading~ good and meh and wonderful and hits and misses.  Hiding indoors to avoid the sun.  Watching films from the 90s. Recently watched Gupt and had many new thoughts about it.  I plan on watching, well re-watching some gems from the 90s over the weekend.  Hope life has been treating you well.

Vignettes: The Days of August.

Hello!  August is neatly halfway done, seriously, what is time even?!  So far, this month has been decent.  Reading wise: I've read some 5 books already, which is a bloody good thing be! My Indian Books in August is going pretty well, like it normally does. Gosh, I love reading books from my corner of the world so much. I could honestly do this for a whole year aaram se, I would only miss thrillers from the rest of the world.  Otherwise: Hmmm...it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I think 5 months into this mess that some days are harder than others. I think, I am finally getting to this place of 'how long will this go on for?', but I try to just float through this time and focus on my books instead.  This is what August has looked like in my corner of the world.  Pages and Pretty Bookmarks.  This bookmark is from The Spring Pallette, you can find them on Instagram.  More pretty bookmarks and cups of chai and plateful of biscuits to keep me comp...

Monday Moods: The Days of July.

July has been full of.. Lilac Skies.  Re-reading old favourites.  Being back in the bedroom after 3 months of sleeping on the floor in the living room.  It's so good to be back in my own bed. My soft, pillow and plushie filled bed.  Chai and Biscuits.  Being Brave and Lebu Cha :)  It's been an odd month so far.  Feels too long. Going by too soon. I am reading, re-reading quite a bit.  Drinking more tea than usual.  Listening to music. Watching strange Reality TV.  Making Reels.  Just trying to navigate another month in lockdown.  Hope you are doing well...well enough I guess.

Monthly Favourites: March 2020.

Hello!  This is an odd month to be doing monthly favourites in. I mean, I considered skipping this month altogether but figure even in this not-so-perfect time, there were things and moments that lifted the gloom from my heart.  So here are things that I loved this month.  1. Chai: I am a more dedicated Coffee drinker. But this month I've been drinking and finding a lot of comfort in a well brewed cup of tea. I like mine with ginger and cardamon and with a biscuit to dunk in it. I think it takes me back to my childhood and the comfort of having a little treat now and again.  2. Simple Home Cooked Meals: This quarantine has resulted in a lot of cooking. A lot of simple meals put together and that have resulted in some deliciousness.  In the picture is a roasted pepper and chicken pasta with a cream sauce. This took under half an hour to put together.  3. Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser: My skin has been a hot ...
