Hello!  In case you didn't know this about me I have lived in Lucknow for five years.  The land of chikankari . When we first moved to Lucknow, in the first year itself we went bananas for chikankari and bought all kinds of things with the intricate and sublime embroidery. Frocks, kurtas, cushion covers and sarees for Maa. We were in love.  I remember my first ever chikan kurta, it was baby pink and so pretty. Over time I think I've had every colour they had on offer- pale pista green, light blue, purple and yellow. My sister had an even larger collection, especially when she moved to Delhi for college.  Then we moved back to Bombay and eventually I grew out of all my chikankari clothes. Dad would sometimes go to Lucknow for work and get us a kurta once in a while. I always took my chikankari clothes for granted, it was such a staple from my childhood.  And then years later I would see chikankari in Fabindia or in fancier boutiques...

Hello!  Purple is one of my favourite colours in the world. Pink and Purple was my colour palette of my teenage years. Now my wardrobe is made up of all kinds of colours but still I can seldom turn away from  purple.  I am so in love with my Lil Sister Backpack from The Burlap People. Hello July!  Hello second half of 2018! Hello Rains!  I honestly can't believe the first half of the year is gone just like that! Here's the next half of the year and hope it's as good as the first half.  My Goals for July are pretty simple.  - As far as reading goes this month I intend to read a lot of western literature and mainly keep away from Indian books. Why? Well, August for me means my annual Indian Books in August, during which I read books from India and the Indian subcontinent. So I want to stay away from Indian books in July so I can go all in during my August reading. - I also hope to get some writing done in July.  - Enjoy the rains.  - Read some good books.  Keep things simple and sweet!  Now on to some hauling!  I recently got these kurtas from the Myntra sale. Hello!  & Hello Monday!  Want to share a quick summer tee haul. Summer and Tees are a match made in fashion heaven.  First up these tees from Zara.  If you follow me on Instagram you'd know that Yellow is pretty much my colour of the year. I am enamoured with all things Yellow this year and this love is spilling into my outfits and accessories.  I fell in love with this Monday tee and I promise to wear it on a Monday and make a dramatic pause!  :)  A red striped tee because a red striped tee is always in style and is such a classic. I have a really cute patch coming in the mail, which I may put on this tee.  :)  Polka dots are deeply nostalgic to me. I had a ton of clothes with polka dots on it and my first school uniform also had polka dots.  So when I see anything with polka dots I kinda automatically buy it.  This tee is no different.  I also got these two tees? Hello!  & Hello Friday!  My plans for this very hot Friday includes reading a solid chunk of my current read- All The Beautiful Lies by Peter Swanson, a writer whose thrillers are something I always enjoy and I have read every single book he's ever written. Out of those The Kind Worth Killing is my absolutely favourite and I can't recommend it enough. It's so good!  Apart from that my Friday will include taking some book haul pictures of the books that came in the mail over the week. 5 in total so far. Book haul coming soon!  Since it's Friday it's time to share some recent favourites and things I've been loving lately.  So let's jump into it.  1. Soma kurtas to beat the summer heat. Hello!  Summer is here and how!  Bombay has heated up over night.  It is close to 40 degrees and it's not even April yet!  UGH!  Lucky for me I have my summer wardrobe all sorted thanks to my recent trip to Anokhi. Anokhi is one of my absolute favourite places to shop from. Their hand block printed kurtas, tunics and tops and stoles all scream summer comfort.  On our recent trip to Jaipur, we stopped off at the Anokhi store on our first day there and bought a few things.  Later on..on our second last day we went to the Anokhi Block Print Museum and visited the shop there too and picked up some things from there as well. What can I say? I have never come back empty handed from Anokhi!  :)  My sister picked up a couple of kurtas, this basic and soothing pink print kurta is one of the first things she saw and loved.  She also got this dupatta, from the Museum shop and this print and it's colours...

Hello!  I want to share a quick little haul from Accessorize.  I got these things nearly a month ago during the last leg of the Sales.  I got most of these things at 70% off and nothing makes me happier...well..almost nothing.  Let's jump in shall we?  I am having a total 90s flashback with these mini backpacks!  I have a motley collection going at the moment and this is a happy addition to it.  I love the colour and I think Navy Blue will work really well for Fall and Winter.  The bag is kinda tiny but I am sure it will fit all the things I need to tote around.  I love the flower details!!!  This Cat thingie opens up to a full sized tote bag. I got this for my sister to keep in her bag at all times. It's perfect to use as a reusable tote to cart groceries and other things.
