 Dear Diary,  Today was such a good day.  We had cheesecake (for birthday cake). Read good books. Had kheer. Watched a sweet film. Laughed and had a slow and simple day. Had sushi for dinner. 🍣 Celebrated my sister's birthday in a quiet and simple and happy way.  It was a good day 😊 Put flowers in my little vases.  Sushi 🍣  A  Christmas RomCom.  Yes please!  Sweet Treats 🩵 I love slow 🐌 days. 

  Subho Bijoya and Happy Dussehra 🙏 The end of Pujo always feels heavy and sad.  So we eat something good and bid Maa farewell and pray for her return and good tidings.  Come back soon Maa.  On Bijoya, in my family, we don't eat rice or non-vegetarian grubs. This used to bring me so much joy as a kid. We used to sit eating in bed and eat mishti and luchi.  Tonight I cooked some Kashmiri Dum Aloo and Boondi Kheer (since no rice).  A simple and yum dinner.  It was a quiet and almost solemn Pujo this year. I hope next year is brighter and better.  Watching an old classic tonight.  My first ever brush with Christie. And still one of my faves. 

 Dear Diary,  I woke up so early today. And started my day with some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It was simple and yum. Picked out a new book to read but read next to nothing. Deep cleaned the house and fridge instead. And you know how happy that makes me. My inner Monica Gellar was very happy.  Watched three films, rewatched rather.  Thor Ragnarok Infinity War.  Endgame.  Laughed. Cheered. Cried.  Spoke to Dad. Checked up on Mom, who was having a good day for a change.  Read a little on my iPad and now it's time to go to bed.  A perfectly ordinary day.  But a good one.  A stack of my books and date cookies.  Messy desk scenes.  Books and Coffee. 

 After a long time, today has been good.  Today was perfectly rainy, breezy and cozy.  Colours and glitter and joy.  Books at the moment.  Can't wait to read more from the Morisaki world. I could do with some comfort and bookshop vibes.  Poirot is always a good idea.  Pages in my gratitude journal.  Made some rava dosas (they look funny but taste good) and tomato chutney.  Today was ordinary and mundane and just what I needed. 

  A bout of good books.  Good food. Aam Ras is the best 🥭  Amazing films.  Rest.  Some crying.  A whole lot of heat.  Overall a good-ish weekend. 

 Hello Loves!  February is almost over.  We get a whole extra day this year and it always makes me happy, having one extra day in my birthday month.  To honest though, for the first time in forever this February wasn't my favourite.  I had a pretty crummy month and was sad and out of it for most days. I was honestly waiting for this month to end and I am happy to see it go.  My birthday month was a bit of a flop.  :(  Well, but that's life.  Some months are good and others suck, it was just sad that my birthday month was one that I didn't enjoy.  Still, there were some things I loved and so here are some favourites from a less than perfect month.  FEBRUARY FAVOURITES:   1. Journals: I found a lot of comfort and joy in my Journal this month. I used a pretty embroidered journal for my birthday month and I am happy with how most of the pages turned out. Embroidered Things and Things made with hands and love.  Reading an old book. I am still trying to include my older books into my reading, and also the few second hand books I own.  Currently Reading The River Sutra by Gita Mehta.   Avocado Toast and Sandwich for an easy dinner.  Positive reinforcement from a bookmark, always a good thing.  A highlighter I like.  And my book wrapped in a book jacket. The jacket is from Handivity Designs.   Tea ☕ on a cold day.  So so so grateful for the weather being good here finally. More 🙏 please. 

 Hello Loves!  Today started not good.  I was alll up in my feelings and feeling like shit.  So I took a nap and woke up feeling motivated to do something good. I cooked myself a comfort meal, a Bengali meal. Made some simple mooshurir dal and shade aloor torkari.  And we finally put up our tree.  🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Here are some glimpses of the sweet things from today.  This year I decided I wanted some bows on my tree.  I can't find my favourite Christmas ornaments, which I last saw in 2019 January. I am so heartbroken but what can you do?? I've just misplaced them.  So I wanted to add something new to my little tree.  My sister made these bows for me, we had a whole roll of silver glitter ribbons from Staples in Bangalore, that I bought back in 2010 or something.  Old baubles.  So much light.  The rooms looks and feels so warm and lovely instantly.  Snowflakes.  I love having the tree up and lit and done and it make...

 Why does September feel like the year is nearly over already?  Like life ought to slow down and amble towards end of year festivity?  September always reminds me of dhol and music and lights all over my city.  The time for Ganesh Chaturthi and festive season officially arriving here in India.  Ganpu is here today. And all morning I've heard music, dhol and merriment and chants.  The light looks festive too.
