Did a bedding refresh.  Felt hopeful about this new month. The sixth month of the year already! Where does time go!?!  I hope this month is good for you and me 🙂‍↔️

  Some Bookish Moments and Joys from April. Making TBRs and sticking to it. Reading Bengali Books & Authors. Books & Coffee. 

 Today felt like a blur. A good blur.  Finished a good book. Had some coffee.  Cleaned up my space. And started a new book! 

 Here’s what today has looked and felt like:  Setting up my journal for April.  Putting pen to paper.  Reading this incredible book, Stroke of Death by Shampa Roy. It’s a murder mystery set in Bengal in 1904 and in a small village in soon to he East Bengal. A Rajbari and its many inhabitants and a mystery that has me hooked. My weekend reading looks allll sorted!  Painted my nails 💅 with a touch of sparkle.  And this bookmark has my whole heart! 

 Hello Loves!  Happy Makar Sankranti, Pongal and Bihu to everyone who celebrates.  We made ourselves some Puli Payesh and I ate some chikki to eat gud and speak sweetly for the rest of the year.  Hope you had a lovely festive day.  Here's what my day looked like:  I love chikki so much.  Need to remember that and eat more of it.  My planner sits cozy in this sleeve.  Sunkissed journals of mine.  A happy mess.  A corner of my bedroom.  My current read, which I am hoping to read more of tonight.  Cute little friends. 

 Hello Loves!  You know I love and adore Indian Books. I'd say nearly 60% of the books I read in a year are Indian Books. In April and August, I read only Indian books and honestly, I could go a whole year just reading books from the Motherland. I love Indian books. And anyone who thinks Indian books are not that great or only think of those.."popular" books as Indian Fiction..well..do better. Look around and find yourself some great books  from India. Whether written in English or translated from regional languages, we have such brilliant books to offer.  Maybe this list will help you.  So let's jump into my favourite books of the year.  TOP 10 INDIAN BOOKS OF 2024 (FICTION & NON-FICTION) :  1.  Hello Loves!  Today was a good day.  Started a new book and read more than half of it and I am really enjoying myself.  Put some soft red velvet bows on my Kindle and my sister's as well. Just festive cheery vibes all around.  Here's what today looked like:  Mother India by Prayaag Akbar is a novella about two young Indians, a man and a woman who live and work in Delhi.  It's a story set firmly in India today, the plague of social media echo chambers and how the powerful and corrosive these carefully worded and manipulated videos/words and content can be.  I  am half way through and really enjoying and appreciating this book.  A cheerful bookmark to keep me company in an often melancholic book.  I read and absolutely loved Leila by the same author and I knew I would enjoy this one as well.  Now for some cutesy things:  We recently got a roll of red velvet ribbon and I wanted to add some festive cheer to my Kindle cover....

  So grateful that I get to live in a home overrun by books.  Seriously, my greatest joy.
