My Reading Resolutions for 2022.

Hello Loves!  I know I am a little (a lot) late talking about my Resolutions this year. I don't even know why! I guess I wanted to let this year begin and get a feel for it before latching any expectations and hopes on it. You know let's see where 2022 was going and then set my expectations accordingly.  :) So here are my little Reading Resolutions and Goals for 2022.  From my Book Journal.  Made a list and hope to stick to it.  :)  I have largely kept things simple and do-able.  Low-key love how this layout turned out.  My Resolutions.  My main goals are to:  Read what I love.  Don't force myself to read.  Read more Literary Fiction.  Buy books I want to read immediately.  DNF books without guilt.  Read a few chonky books.  :)  Read what makes me happy.  What are some of your reading goals for 2022?  And have you been sticking to them?  Me, I think so far I've done well with the go...

2020 Reading Resolutions.

Hello!  I am a big old resolution maker. (Like you didn't know that!)  I like setting goals and I try my level best to stick to them. It's nice to have a basic guideline to give some structure to my year.  Both in regular life and in my reading, I like having my goals set early in the year, the very beginning of January, so my year follows the goals.  2020 READING RESOLUTIONS///  1. READ 100 BOOKS.  100 is a good solid number, it's been my go-to goal when it comes to setting my Good Reads Reading Challenge. Every year I tend to surpass it. Which makes me inordinately happy. But even if I end up reading just 100 books, I'd be perfectly happy.  2. DNF BOOKS I DON'T LIKE.  I have the hardest time sticking to this goal, but already, in mere 7 days of 2020, I've put aside a book I wasn't enjoying. I started reading a collection of short stories, got 4 stories in and didn't like what I was reading, so I stopped. H...

Hello 2020! + Goals for 2020.

Hello 2020!  Welcome!  Happy New Year Folks.  I hope this year is everything you hope for.  I hope this year is kind to you and me.  I am so happy that 2020 is here. I am looking forward to this year and this new decade.  Can you believe 2020 is here?  Didn't 2020 feel so far away?!  Time is a funny little thing.  :)  2020 RESOLUTIONS// I am a big fan of setting goals and resolutions for the New Year.  I try to be a little simple and realistic about my goals. No point in setting impossible targets.  So with that in mind, here are my 2020 Goals.  1. Find small joys.  2. Travel. Go somewhere new.  3. Go to the hills.  4. Try new places to eat.  5. Explore more of Bombay.  6. Take care of myself.  7. Be kind to myself.  8. Read 100 books.  9. Buy sensibly.  10. Cook at home and learn new recipe...

Hello 2019 + Reading & Blogging Resolutions!

Hello!  So 2019 is here and it's time to make some resolutions and set some goals for my reading and my blog.  I took the first week off from Blogging, fairly undecidedly. TBH, my 2019 was not off to the best possible start. I talked about it on my IG stories, but in a nutshell on the 1st of January 3 Amazon packages went missing from our home. The next day we found out that the lady who collects the garbage from our building is the ones responsible for stealing them. We got back two out of three things (Thank God), but my book never did. And somehow this really made me sad, not just the book being sold for scraps, It was being stolen from the people I've been nothing but kind to. I have been feeling just untethered and out of sorts. Not the best way to start a new year.  So that's why I have been missing in action on here.  But I've got to snap out of it.  So here we are trying to forget the first week of 2019 and making a fresh start....

Hello 2018! Reading + Blogging Goals for 2018.

Hello 2018!  Be a year of kindness, love, gentleness and good sense and sanity.  I am so excited for this year.  I am coming into this year with so much optimism and good vibes and I hope this year is good for all of us.  Like every year I want to kickstart this New Year with some my my Goals and Resolutions.  If you know me at all you know I am a goal setter.  The start of the year is a happy time since I get to set-up my planners and think long and hard about my yearly goals.  So let's get started... 2018 READING RESOLUTIONS///  1. Read 100 books- My Good Reads Reading Challenge will be it's usual 100. It is the bare minimum number of books I want to read in 2018. If I read more then that's great. But if it's only 100 I am OK with that too.  2. Read more Classics- I make the same resolution every year and I do rather poorly on it. This year I hope to do better.  3. Re-Read more.  ...

Hello 2017! Reading & Blogging Goals for 2017!

Hello!  :)  Hello 2017!  Be Good. Be Kind.  Be Gentle. Be Peaceful.  :)  Happy New Year, folks!  Hope this year treats you kindly and is one full of happiness.  :)  My 2017 is off to a slow and leisurely start, I spent most of my day in my PJs and being comfy and cozy.  I ate pizza. Brewed a delicious cup of peppermint mocha!  Watched a movie with my family- Chaar, a Bengali movie from 2014 which consists of 4 short stories in one movie. A really enjoyed this movie.  The majority of my day was spend thinking about my goals for this year.  Honestly it hasn't sunk in that this year is here. 2017 is here and it doesn't seem real.  What is life!  :)  I am low-key excited for this year.  2016 was a good year for me and I really hope 2017 is also a good year. *fingers crossed*  READING RESOLUTIONS FOR 2017!  1. Read 100 books...

Hello 2015: My Reading Resolutions for 2015.

Just a couple of things I want to do in my Reading Life.  Here goes...  1. Read more Classics: This includes both old-old classics and Modern classics and classics from all over the world.  2. Read more Graphic Novels and Comic Books: 2014 was the year of graphic novels for. I read a ton of graphic novels and a ton of comics and I loved it and this is something I want to do in 2015 as well.  3. Read a Penguin English Library book every two months: I buy these books like there is no tomorrow. I love these editions of the books and I've read very few of them. Not good! I need to amend this in the new year.  4. Read more translated works: I did some of this last year and loved it and I want do more of this in 2015.  5. Read fun books: I read very few chick-lit books in 2014 and I need to read more fun and light books in 2015.  6. Read more Children's Lit: It's always fun to read kiddie books and there are so many I didn't...

Hello 2015!

Hello 2015.  Here you are, a new year full of new possibilities.  I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve. Mine included cooking some delicious treats at home and being merry. Just the way I like it.  I am a little bit of an avid resolution maker. Though I didn't make any resolutions last year. Surprising.  This year I am doing some Resolutions...rather some guidelines I want to follow in 2015.  These are some of my Blog Resolutions.... 1. Blog more regularly.  2. Do monthly wrap-ups, that way I talk about every single book I read. Not all books give a whole lot to talk about and do a full-fledged review on. But I would like to mention and talk in brief about everything I read.  3. I intend on doing 365 Photo Challenge. Take a picture every single day of the year and share those pictures on the blog every Sunday.  4. I want to talk about the many wonderful books I read before I began blogging.  ...

Sister Reads| Reading Resolutions for 2014

I am not much of a planner- for pretty much everything in life. So, I don't really plan what I am going to read in the year ahead, but I have seen my sister's reading-related goals every year and I love how she manages to achieve most of them, which really inspired me to put some down of my own. So, here they are.. My 2014 Reading Resolutions: Read at least one classic from a never-before-read author >> I have always shied away from reading the Russian greats like Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy, so, this year, I have decided to read my first Dostoyevsky. I think I will start with Crime and Punishment.  Read some translated works by Bengali authors >> It is a shame that I can't read Bengali as fast as I read English. This really hampers my willingness to read Bengali writing in, er, Bengali. So, in 2014, I really want to read translated works of Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and Bankim Chandra. I am really looking forward to this.  Read stories from ...

Hello 2014! Here are my 2014 Reading Resolutions!

Happy New Year guys! Hope this year brings you all kinds of happiness!  At the beginning of each year, I tend to write down my goals and aspirations for the year. Since last year, I've been making specific Reading Resolutions, to keep my reading focused and giving myself some goals and making sure I stick to it. I have found it useful in the past year and hopefully this year is just the same.  So here are my Reading Resolutions for 2014!  1. Read More Classics/// I have this on my list every single year and last year I actually did abide by it. This year I want to read more classic literature, modern classics and Indian classics as well.  2. Read A Classic a Month/// Similar to point 1, but more focused. I want to read one classic- any kind of classic- each month. This shouldn't be hard...I really should just do it.  3. Read Big-Fat-Huge Books/// Basically don't get intimidated by the sheer size of the book. The longest book I ...

Reading Resolutions 2013.

I am a resolution maker/taker. And once I put it down in writing I am pretty good at keeping said resolutions.  At least I try my level best to keep my resolutions. I also make weekend goals and week goals- about things I need to get done and things I want to try and do. Making a list keeps me on track. In the beginning of the year with the zeal of the new year and a chance of starting something new upon me, I wanted to make some reading related resolutions. With half the year nearly over (where does time fly?) I thought its a good time as any to revisit my Reading Resolutions and see how I am doing. 1. Read more classics. /// I pretty much have this on my list every single year. And I am really bad I keeping it. Reading classics is amazing. But it takes some time. And effort. Reading contemporary books makes switching to classics take some time. This year I am happy to report things are a little better. I've read 2 classics already. I also want to read different kinds of classi...
