Hello November 2026!

Image
Hello November! Hello Kali Pujo. Hello Diwali. Hello my sister's birthday month.  Hello Scorpio Season.  🍂🍁🌰☕🍄🍊 I am hoping this month is gentle and kind and soft and all kinds of wonderful. My last November was full of pain and I'm hoping this year is so much better.  This is how I started my month:  Decorated my planner pages for November and gave my sister's birthday special attention.  :)  Read this easy, breezy rom-com last night.  I don't usually read romances and maybe pick up one or two a year. This one is about childhood best-friends getting estranged and them four years later meeting again and falling for each other. It was sweet enough and decent, not great but ok-ish.  2.50/5.  This is what I am currently reading: Evenings and Weekends by Oisin McKenna, I've heard so many good things about this and I think all the buzz is justified, I am about 12% in and I'm loving it so far. I've gone into this one pretty blind and so...

October Begins...

Image
Hello  Loves! October has begun and has been wonderful so far. We've had some cold, rainy days that I spent on the terrace reading and watching the rain.  I had the first year anniversary of my stroke, and I had delicious food and had a cake.  Some sadness was journaled away. Nothing beats putting pen to paper and getting our muddled thoughts out on your system.  Reading has been going on well. I started October with two chunky books, Anna Karenina that I am still reading. And American Hagwon which wasn't my cup of tea. I really wanted to like it but it just didn't land.  It felt too long and unending.  A disappointing read.  Re-reading a childhood book that's old and battered and wonderful.  Spooky Mugs are out.  A yearly tradition that makes me so happy.  One year of my horrid stroke and instead of crying about it, I decided to eat some cake and commemorate a horrid day.  Journal Spreads & My Journal. 💚💚💚💚 A rain-kis...

Hello October 2026 + Fall/Winter Reading Project.

Image
Hello October! I am glad the month of Durga Pujo is here. &  Spooky Season is here.  I am excited for a month of reading thrillers and horror books. But I am also embarking on a little bit of a reading project.  I plan on reading a Russian Classic through the months of October, November & December.  I have been meaning to to read Anna Karenina for years now and I figured these wintery months are perfect to lose myself to some Russian worlds.  My edition has 760 pages, so I did some bookish maths and I need to read 8.4444444 pages a day,  which I am going to round off to and read 10 pages a day. Which is very doable.  Started it this evening and read 12 pages so far, might read a few more before bedtime.  My reading companions.  All blue things to match my book.  A little extra but it makes me happy.  💙💙💙💙💙💙 My bookmark. 💜 Wish me luck loves 💛

Books I’m Reading Now.

Image
Hello Loves!  My reading habits have changed quite a bit.  I used to be a book monogamist, I only ever read one book at a time and couldn't imagine reading any other way. I saw other folks read a huge stack at books in one go and wondered how they did it.. Cut to now and my monogamous nature..when it comes to books have changed quite a bit.  Now I read a couple of books at a time.  I am currently reading three books this week.  I have my morning read: my daytime read if you will.  I am reading: Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson, which is literary whodunnit set in 1954.  The book's written in 1995 and something about a book written in the 90s is just hitting the spot.  It took me sometime to get into this book but I'm currently a 100 pages in and really enjoying it.  This is my evening read: Elizabeth and her German Garden by Elizabeth Von Arnim.  A classic about a woman's love for nature and her garden and books and thriving...

Hello May! May you bring Flowers and Mangoes and Good Books. May you bring Peace and Calm.  Here’s how I began this Month:  Started two incredible books. Heart Lamp is excellent and I am only three stories in!  Manohar Malgonkar’s historical books are an favourite of mine and this is the third book of his I’m picking up, so my hopes are high.  Hoping the rest of May is just  as stellar. 💛
