Monday Moods: Chill Days.

Days have lately been slow and full of family time.  Stared this new week with simple Bengali food, a Telugu film Hit The Second Case and re-watching a Feluda show~ Sabash Feluda on Zee 5.  Need to pick up a new book, I am currently not reading anything. I also need to make my July TBR.

Haul: Plant Bookmarks from Painted Petunias.

Hello Loves!  I feel like being at home for over a year has made all of us into Plant Ladies. I know so many people have turned to plants and caring for plants for comfort and a sense of belonging.  Plant Lady is the new Cat Lady! And that is not a bad thing at all.  I don't know if I have a green thumb or not, but I do come from a long time plant loving souls.  My Mother loves her plants.  As does Baba, who is a natural with plants. A happy perk of growing up on a farm.  I do like plants.  But I LOVE flowers.  Someday, when I live in a house with a balcony again, I can't wait to have a thriving plant family.  For now I get my plant fix from my parent's plant babies.  And some plant art.  :)  Like these bookmarks!    These beauties from Painted Petunias were love at first sight.  I love her art and this was our second purchase from her.  Sonali makes some beautiful art and I am glad I own some of her creati...

Vignettes: World Environment Day.

Happy World Environment Day.  Nature is the one thing we all have in common, something we all have to share and cherish.  I can only hope we learn to treat our environment better and take care of it and save it our future generations.    Plants and Flowers always cheer me up!  Pretty leaves.  There is so much beauty, tranquility and joy to be found in nature.  :)

Monthly Favourites: May 2021.

Hello Loves!  Another month is nearly over and it's time to focus on what were the silver linings of this month.  Aka the favourites from the month of May.  This month felt both long and never ending and yet went by in a blur.  It wasn't the happiest of months, like most months in this year from hell.  But there were a few moments of joy and happiness.  Here are some of them.  1. Reading: My reading life was kinda amazing this month. I read some incredible books this month. I read around 15 books this month and most of them were so good. The wrap-up will come on the 31st and I can't wait to talk about my reads this month.  I also bought some books this month!  Physical books and ebooks!  A good bookish month.  A blessing.  I read Jhumpa Lahiri and Murakami this month and honestly I couldn't be happier.  2. Reading & Watching Ray: This month started with Ray's 100th birthday and we spent this whole month re-watch...

Life Lately: Everything kinda Sucks & Things That Help.

Dear Diary,  Life seems too hard some days.  Everything feels too heavy and nothing seems to be in our control. We thought 2020 was the worst thing we had to deal with but now its actually seems pleasant compared to the hell fire this year is turning out to be.  I know all of us are struggling with, none of this is easy, none of us was built to for this level of constant stress and distress.  I wake up every morning expecting the other shoe to drop.  It feels like one thing after another.  A devastating second wave. Dead.  Illness.  Helplessness.  And now we have Mother Nature coming in with Cyclones.  Eh.  Life seems too much.  And today we learnt that several social media apps may get banned from tomorrow.  Great.  Just great.  Ugh.  Seriously, this year won't let up.  I hope wherever you are, you are safe and sound and well and finding ways to cope with this unending shit fest.  Stay strong my l...

Friday Favourites: Notebooks + Plants + Books + Current Reads + Pouches.

  1. Floral Notebooks from The Ink Bucket.  Things of beauty and perfect pocket sized journals.  2. Two Great Books I Read Earlier in the Year.  Both set in cities I've called home,  Bombay and Bangalore.  The Alchemy of Secrets by Priya Balasubramanian is set in Bangalore in the aftermath of the Babri Masjid Demolition and how communal tensions can effect even the most peaceful neighbourhoods and change lives forever. It was a moving read and so relevant in these times. I really enjoyed this book, the writing was lovely and it brought to life the simmering tensions that we all felt in the aftermath of the riots of 1992 and that we occasionally feel every now and then.  4/5  Bombay Balchao by Jane Borges: This is one of the best things I've read all year.  Bombay back in the day and a wonderful sense of community and a host of charming characters.  So good!  5/5  3. Pouches from iTokri: I recently got these two embroidered po...

Travel Diary: Delo Park, Kalimpong.

Yellow Lillies for the win.  On my recent trip to Kalimpong, we stayed in a hotel right next to Delo park. We chose to stay away from the hubbub of the main city and amidst nature and clouds. And it was the best decision we ever made.  Delo was under constant cloud cover. It honestly felt like I was living in the clouds. It was cold and cozy and lovely.  Plus, it rained almost every day. Bliss!  On our last full day here, we finally went to Delo Park. An eco park full of walking tracks and flowers.  We spent over an hour here walking around and taking in the views and all the lush greenery around us.  You could also live inside Delo park if you wanted.  There is government guest house that could book a room in.  But given how busy the park gets in the morning and afternoon, I don't think this will be a most relaxing spot in the world to stay in. Especially in winter, huge groups of people come here for picnics ...

Monday Moods: A Few of Recent Loves- Kanchanjunga + Little Cottages in the Hills + Jewellery.

Hello!  Happy Dhanteras folks!  Just like that Diwali is here. Lights and diyas and being festive. I LOVE Diwali, for the lights and joy it brings. Not a fan of the noise but I am so glad and proud of how minimal the sounds have become in the last few years. The Diwali of my childhood was noisy and unbearable. You couldn't step out of your house and even drive somewhere because there were crackers being burst at every street corner. Lately, people have become more sensible and sensitive and it's gotten so much better.  I have been missing from the blog for a little bit now. I have been a happy travelling bug, and I couldn't be more chuffed! :)  I have been to the hills over the weekend- Darjeeling and I have so much to share from the trip. But today I want to share a few things from the recent past that I have loved.  Floral things forever and always!  Dress from Shein.  Pendant from Ali Express.  Little homes i...
