Monday Moods: What I Read Today!

Hello Loves! Life’s been busy in the last few days, so I haven’t been reading all that much. This morning I picked up two adorable books and smiled my way through them.  Both have a common theme, they are about life lessons from our furry friends!  One from cats and the other from dogs!  🐶🐾🐈🐕🐈‍⬛🐩🐱🐾🐶 Here’s a look at some of my favourite pages from both books.  Eat. Play. Love. Life Lessons from my Dog by Emma Block: This book is pure love. Adorable, wise and so so beautiful. I read this with a big smile on my face and my heart full of joy, I gave this 5/5 stars and I highly recommend reading it. Now on to the book about cats.  This one has more sass (because cats) and is just as adorable!  Life Lessons from my Cat by Jamie Shelman: This one was sassy and funny and cute as hell. If you love cats, pick this book up, you’ll love it.

Sunday Sukoon.

Hello Loves!  Had a very slow and lovely Sunday.  Read. Journaled. Relaxed.  Here's what today looked like:  Things I read today and loved alll of it.  This book is so wholesome.  I read Garlic and The Vampire last month and was so happy to reunite with Garlic and The Witch in this book.  Loved this collection of stories.  Slowly (on purpose) making my way through this wonderful book.

Friday Favourites: Limbo Days.

Hello Loves!  The last week of the year is just to slow down and laze about and start prepping for the New Year.  I've started setting up my planners and organizing my supplies. Little things to get ready for 2025. I've also been watching some comfort films and reading some picture books.  Here are some faves from this week.  Lemon tea every night is a December staple.  Books and Tea.  Stickers and supplies.  Read this incredible spooky book.  Based on real life stories.  This was such good fun.  Mornings back in the hometown.  Blogging with a side of cookies.  Year end journaling, listing off  all my yearly highlights.

Things to Cheer Up a Sad Girl.

The last few days have been just morose. My upstairs neighbours are loud and rude and gross (they throw garbage out their window) and I had to go up and give them a piece of my mind. Ugh. For someone who is painfully non-confrontational, this wasn't fun.  Since then we've lodged a formal complaint with the building and they've been issued a warning. And today was loads quieter.  I am just so sick of them and the urge to move out and run away from my life is so high.  I've been feeling out of sorts, so this morning my sister ordered me some new treats, a set of Camel brush pens and some glitter pens and a set of Nataraj Gel pens. We were getting some groceries and she added these things to the cart.  So I spent my morning drinking coffee, colouring and reading some adorable graphic novels.  Here's what Self-Care looked like today:  Coffee always helps turn a frown around.  A mindful colouring book.  Kindle & iPad full of books.  A re...

6 Japanese Books I Read for Japanuary.

Hello Loves!  This year I decided to actively participate in Japanuary, a reading challenge/theme where people read some Japanese books in January.  I knew I didn't want to ONLY read Japanese books all month long, that kind of commitment I only make for Indian Books in August. But I wanted to read a handful books from Japan. And I did just that. I honestly thought I'd read like one book but to my surprise I read 6 books and now let's talk about them.   1. The Premonition by Banana Yoshimoto, translation by Asa Yoneda: I read Kitchen by the same author last year, after hearing nothing but great things about it for ages. I didn't quite love as much as so many other people seem to. I liked it enough but I didn't love it.  So I picked this one up with some trepidation.  This novella is a story of young woman of nineteen, who uncovers a big secret related to her family and herself.  OK not a real Spoiler Alert but she finds out she was adopted into her fam...
