Friday Favourites: Pancakes + Journal Pages + Sunsets + Anchor + Flowers & Nostalgia.

Hello!  This week has flown by me.  This was one busy one. Full of grown-up chores and home needs.  I've also read some wonderful books and had yummy meals.  Now for some of me new/recent loves.  1. Pages of my sister's journal/// My sister has been doing an amazing job journaling and art-journaling in her Hobonichi Techo 'Original' A6. She made this little quote page with some black and white Washi Tape and wrote a quote she loves.  2. Strawberry Compote/// Simple as can be and delicious to boot. Perfect to layer over your pancakes and waffles and even over oats.  All you need is Strawberry and Sugar. Add them to a pan over low heat and them reduce and form a thick and sweet syrup. I had mine over some Banana pancakes I whipped up on a Sunday.  3. Anchor Necklace/// I picked up this darling little pendant from Accessorize a few weeks ago. Love the colours and the anchor symbol.  ...

General Whimsy: Happiness Looks Like...

1. Cute Hair Accessories. .in this case Hair Bows. I had a couple of similar things when I was a child that my Dida (maternal grandmother) sent me from London. I had a pink one, yellow one and a blue one pretty darn similar to the one in this picture.  These bows just reminded me of my childhood and they are a good way to spruce up my everyday top knot.  The top and bottom bows are from Forever 21 &  The middle one is from Accessorize.  2. Candy in general but this white KitKat in particular was so insanely delicious. I love white chocolate but it's not always easily found in my part of the world. This KitKat was in a goodie box my Maa's BFF got us from the US.  3. Ginger Bread Latte--- I've been obsessed with how we make our own Ginger Bread Latte at home.  It's my favourite winter drink.  All you need is  Coffee Sugar  Ground Ginger Powder Cinnamon Powder  Vanilla Extract  Milk It ...

Project 365 2015: Week 28.

Hello!  Week 28 was a week of the having a cold and feeling like my head was whoozy and I just felt awful for most part.  But there was making mug cakes.  Reading a lot.  Watching some movies.  Naps.  And just taking things easy.  Honestly, I didn't take that many pictures but let' see what week 28 looked like in my world.. Day 189: Pretty and simple light fixtures. So minimalistic and yet such a statement piece.  Day 190: A sudden and intense craving for cake was satiated by making simple yet delicious mug cakes.  The one featured above is a chocolate and coffee mug cake.  All you need is.. 3 Tbsp Flour  3 Tbsp Butter  2 Tbsp Cocoa powder  1 Tbsp Coffee poweder  3 Tbsp Sugar  1/4 th teaspoon baking powder  1/2 a beaten egg  Mix it well  Spin in microwave on high for 3-4 minutes (depends on the power of your microwave)  and you...

Project 365 2015: Week 20.

Hello!  Another week to look back on. This one was a scorcher. I know I sound like a broken record but I can't help it. Bombay has been so hot and unbelievably humid lately. Ugh! I can't wait for the rains to get here. Rainy days and cloudy skies are all I can hope for now.  I spent most of this last week at home. The sun and the heat is not something I want to brave. But I did manage to have a tiny shopping excursion.  Go out for dinner.  And I got some books in the mail. Read a fair bit. Cleaned my house. Drank lots of cool drinks.  Bought darlinggggg shoes!  Woke up early on most days.  Got new sunglasses---after a long time. Got colour pencils. Coloured to my heart's content.  So a nice week of summer.  Let's see my week in pictures... Day 134: This little face just brings me so much joy. The goggly eyes and her pink polka-dot-ness is all very endearing. They are meant to be bag charms but I...

Project 365 2015: Week 16.

Hello!  Another week has gone by..and what an amazing week this has been. I met my childhood friends for ages and it was just wonderful. We caught up, gossiped and laughed and laughed and were just silly..in a way that one can be silly with only childhood friends. :)  Other than that...I read like a woman possessed. I read three books this week. A huge improvement from my recent slow reading phase. It was nice getting my reading on. :)  There was also lots of home cooking, baking and donut eating :)  Oh...and I made some grape juice which was just out of this world good!  A very satisfying week!  Let's see my week in pictures.  Day 106: A quiet spot to read and relax. My darling little owl friend keeps me company and looks cute! I also adore this bedspread of mine. Vivid blue with very typical block-print. Intrinsically Indian. And just a bright pop of colour. My Owl is from Blue Mango . Day 107: More cute...

Monday Moods: Three Berry Tart Recipe.

Hello!  How is this Monday treating you?  Let's start this week with some delicious shall we?  At some point in March, I had the pleasure of tasting blackberries and raspberries for first time ever. I loved them. Pricey (here in India) but so amazing. My sister, bought these for me as I was recovering from a bad bout of food poisoning. These helped. They cheered me up and healed my sick heart.  A had a couple of these and was struck by a bolt of genius...why not bake a pie?  This was right around Pi Day and Instagram and Tumblr were full of delicious Pie pictures and recipes. So why not bake one of my own?  God! Don't you just love being spontaneous and doing something out of the box?  I loving baking. But I mostly stick to cakes, cupcakes, muffins, puddings and the like. I have baked a few pies in my time but every single one of them had someone else make the dough/ pie crust. I am not, NOT a good dough kneader (is that a...
