So pretty. Simple. Colourful. Colourless. Perfection!  The Penguin English Library editions are some of my favourite books in the whole world. This is just one I acquired and read this year.  Secret Shame time: My shameful love for this beautiful man is pretty well-known. And when I found out that there were editions of Sherlock Holmes books with his gorgeous face on it, I just HAD to. I mean come on....look at him. Ahhhhhh! #lust #lovehim #hotman :) Botanical prints are just stunning and all the artwork in this book- The Blind Man's Garden by Nadeem Aslam- is just spetacular.  And now for the prettiest books I own...handsdown! And I have wanted this book for so freaking long, I was just glad to finally own it. Wow! I only just realised that all of these books are pretty much classics. Even Sudha Murthy's book is full of classic Indian folk-tales. What fun! I bought all of these book on Amazon . I really needed to stock up on some Agatha Christie books and I bought the Wodehouse books for my sister as a Christmas pressie.  Love them all and have already read one book from this pile.  Cocktail Tim- P.G. Here is my last batch of Friday Faves of the year. The last Friday of 2014. Where is has this year run off to?  Bah Humbug (I just finished reading A Christmas Carol)!  A pendant I LOVE.  Cats on a sweater.  The Grand Budapest Hotel...a movie I loved this year. Simply stunning! Flowers.  A gorgeous edition of Emma by Jane Austen. Ah! So pretty!  Some doodles I've been doodling this year. I drew this during the fmsphotoadaychallenge for November.  My last Friday of the year was spent grocery shopping, buying books and drinking two giant cups of coffee to stay awake...I am grossly under-slept.  Have a wonderful weekend guys :) 

Ho Ho Ho!  Merry Christmas! Hope this day is treating you well.  My idea of a perfect Christmas is to chill, eat something delicious and watch fun and heart-warming movies.  These movies are some of my perfect Christmas movies.  Home Alone...a classic if you ask me! The Holiday. You've Got Mail...I could watch this movie all day everyday and still love it just as much!  Love Actually...well...if this movie doesn't scream Christmas I don't know what does.  Elf..funny, sweet and quintessentially Christmas!  The Harry Potter Films...wintery, magical and perfect!  Have a lovely Christmas you guys :) 

1. Fasting and Feasting by Anita Desai: A phenomenal book this is. Really, really good. I have read quite a few Anita Desai books this year and this is hand's down my absolute favourite. I have reviwed it HERE.  2. Calcutta Exile by Bunny Suraiya: This book I happened to randomly come across and went on to enjoy it immensely. Recommend it, I reviewed it HERE .  3. The All Bengali Crime Detective by Suparna Chatterjee: This was my first read in 2014 and it was a wonderful book. I started the year off really well and on such a happy note with this book. Another random find I took a chance on and absolutely loved. Reminded me of my dad and his friends, it was utterly charming. I reviewed it HERE.   4. My Kind of Girl by Buddhadeva Bose: Ah! This book was just delightful. And isn't this edition just gorgeous!? A lovely book that I am sure I'll return to over the years to come...in fact I want to re-read in 2015. 1. The Collected Works of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin: OMG! This book was just wonderful. It's a book about books, about a bookstore, about love and about the healing power of connection and relationships and love. So amazing. Heart-warming, funny, moving and just an excellent read. Definetly give this a read, you will love it. I promise. Reviewed HERE.   2. Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller: I have wanted to read this book for absolute ages and I am so glad I finally got to it this year. This was an amazing read. Like it blew my mind, it was complex and full of flawed characters who make terrible mistakes but still move you. Beautifully written and thought provoking. I loved this book and made my sister read it right after I was done with it, because I needed to discuss it with someone, The book is reviewed HERE .  3. Boo Yeah I bought some books! :)  All of these books were bought on Amazon during the Great Online Sale Festival (GOSF) that was happening here in India in the second week of December. Basically a ton of online shops were on minimum 30% off and I decided to get on it! And do what I do best...buy some books!  Happy news: Most of these books were on 70% off! Whaaaaaaaaaaat? How could I possibly stop myself...not like I wanted to in any case. I got a good mix of Indian books, stocked up on some Agatha Christie books and two modern classics.
