Blogmas Day-16: Top 10 Hindi Movies of 2023

 Hello, hello!

I hope December has been good to you thus far!

We are a little more than halfway done with the last month of the year and, seriously, where has the time flown by?!

Anyway, back to the post. Today, I am going to share our Top 10 Hindi movies of the year. This year has been awful for the Hindi movie industry and they've only given us duds and godawful movies! However, even amongst the uninspiring slew of Hindi movies, there were some that were, thankfully, good!

Let's get into it, shall we?!

Uunchai, streaming on Zee5, is a lovely, heartwarming movie about a group of septuagenarians, who decide to trek to the Everest Base Camp to honour one of their friends, whose dream it was and who'd passed away quite suddenly. The treacherous trek, the unravelling of secrets and just the dynamics of the friendships was really nicely done!

Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, streaming on Netflix, is a really nicely done thriller. It starts with the hijacking of an aeroplane and then it only gets more and more interesting from there on!

Jawan, streaming on Netflix, is a full-on commercial masala movie with a good dose of social messaging. SRK is the heart and soul of the movie and it is so good to have King Khan back!

U-Turn, streaming on Zee5, is the remake of its eponymous Kannada thriller and while the Hindi one is not an exact copy, it is still very good.

Kathal, streaming on Netflix, is a hilarious, poignant, interesting movie about cops in a small town in UP searching for a politician's missing jackfruit. It sounds silly and it is silly but also has a strong social message thrown in there.

Bhediya, streaming on Jio Cinema, is a funny werewolf horror-comedy movie. It is not fully perfect or too scary or too funny but it has its moments and there are a few laugh out loud moments as well!

Gumraah, streaming on Netflix, is a remake of a Tamil (?) movie and is an interesting thriller. Don't want to give too much away but it is worth a watch for sure.

I Heart You, streaming on Jio Cinema, is a thriller-survival movie and it is an edge-of-your-seat type of a thriller. A quick and interesting watch.

Friday Night Plan, streaming on Netflix, is a high school/ coming-of-age movie about expectations, friendships, understanding your family and finding love. It is so wholesome and cute!

Apurva, streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, is an absolutely thrilling movie. A young girl is kidnapped off a bus by four goons, who are preparing to assault her. Her efforts to save herself from them makes up the bulk of the movie. Definitely worth watching!

Did we miss out on mentioning any good Hindi movie? Let us know on Instagram!
