Plot Summary: ‘From human birth to death, our Bamboo finds one way or another to be useful to a common person. It is truly the unsung and the forgotten.’
In a lush, green forest, a shy, unassuming tree is presented with a reward by the forest queen. This makes
all the forest inhabitants curious . . .
India’s favourite storyteller brings to us the story of the humble bamboo that endures and selflessly gives.
A charming ode to our bountiful forests and trees, their resilience and the abundant gifts they bestow upon us, this gorgeous chapter book is the ideal introduction to the world of Sudha Murty.
Review: My second read of the year was in the same vein as the first, I chose something wholesome and comforting and when it comes to looking for something full of joy and comfort- Sudha Murty is an easy choice. Especially her children's books.
I adore the Chapter Books she's written so far and I ended the year with one- How the Onion got its Layers- and I picked this one up on the second day of the year.
This book is truly beautiful. The art is so so so lovely. And the story and the message and little life lesson are perfect. You also learn a lot about trees and how wonderfully useful and important each of them are to us. There is something to learn, absorb and appreciate.
This is a great book for kids, they learn about the forest and various trees and their uses. This is also a great book for adults to enjoy over a cup of tea and maybe plan a holiday to the jungle to spend time with nature.
I absolutely loved it.
